After a a demon attacks a nearby ninja camp, Shianndrea“s ninja clan is deployed to destroy him. Unfortunately for her, she and Ai are asked to stayed behind on guard duty by the elders of the clan. The deployed team is having a tough time dealing with the demonic threat until Shianndrea and Ai arrive at the scene and save the day.
There really isn“t anything new or innovative in this book but that“s not to say that it“s not a fun read. In fact, it is a lot of fun, even if the concept is a little cliched. Some of you more serious readers may dismiss Shinobi: Ninja Princess as just a cutesy manga-influenced teen drama, but there is a lot to like. Wade“s writing is simple and fast paced, and reading this issue was just a joy with panel after panel of action – with a little bit of teenage romance thrown in between. Wade is also on art duties in this book and he has absolutely nailed the style and coloring of the Japanese stories which have obviously influenced this book.
If you“re looking for a deep, character-drive story, Shinobi: Ninja Princess #4 will not be the book for you, but if you want a fun ninja story, or a book that a younger reader will enjoy, then this will definitely be a book you“ll want to pick up.
