REVIEW: Star Wars #8
Star Wars #8

Let’s judge this book by its cover… Luke and R2-D2 are  surrounded by laser guns. It’s a nice cover. The art is very easy on the eye.
The facts are these… Luke destroyed the Death Star and headed to Tatooine for answers about his destiny. There he found a journal by Obi-Wan. Han Solo and Leia have been searching for a location for the new rebel base. Instead have run into Sana Solo, a woman claiming to be Han’s wife.
If you’re sitting comfortably we can begin… Leia and Han are held at gun point by Sana who wants to sell Leia to the imperial guard. Leia is not in the mood so heads back to the ship when Sana blows it up. Luke is flying back from Tatooine when he gets an idea to visit the Jedi home world, but needs someone to smuggle him there. On the smugglers moon of Nar Shadaa he quickly gets into a bar fight before pulling out his light saber. This draws the attention of a bounty hunter or maybe a force weirder who grabs the Saber and makes a run for it. Luke and the whole bar of criminals chase after him all wanting the light saber. Back with Han and Leia as Han try’s to talk some sense into Sana, Leia makes her move and kicks Han into Sana and draws her blaster on the pair just as tai fighters come for Leia. To be continued.
With the art so close resembling the actual cast it makes it so easy to read and feel like you’re in the Star Wars universe. It switches between the two main plots well. You don’t feel like you’re being taken from one to another it flows smoothly.
The Good, the Bad and the Star rating…
The Good – It feels very much like a Star Wars book, that might sound weird but some don’t. It’s written very well and the art is gorgeous.
The Bad – It feels very short. I don’t know if I just became so engrossed and think it was short, or it actually was.
The Stars – Any Star Wars fan would rate this full marks but I’m more of a Star Trek fan. That said I can’t deny it’s a 4 star book.

- Hey, I'm Shane.
Been into comics since I was about 5. Loved watching Wonder Woman and superboy in the 80's.
I Started reading seriously about 10 years ago. Began to collect a few comic series, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Teen Titans, Justice League of America and Superman Batman all pre flashpoint. Being honest that was my favourite run.
