Thanos is now alone and stuck on his home planet. He reminds me of Tom Hanks in Cast Away. He“s more mortal and vulnerable than he has ever been. He does rock the Cast Away theme really well. He“s hunting, being hunted and figuring out the limits of his mortality just like the rest of us would in a trapped situation. With not very much dialogue, we watch a day in the life of Cast Away Thanos. The only thing he“s missing is a beloved sports ball to call a friend and talk to during rough nights. Lemire does a great job of progressing Thanos through his most desperate hour as he wanders aimlessly through out the planet“s wasteland. Don“t get this story wrong, he“s still tough as nails Thanos and once he comes to terms with his mortality, I think we“ll see an interesting, adventuring, almost pirate like Thanos. He sure has the look for it here in this comic. I like this nomad looking Thanos that Peralta has given us. I hope we see more.
Thanos #7 is a well paced update on the down fall of Thanos. I really enjoyed it and can“t wait to see what“s next. The issue leaves off on an interesting cliff hanger that I think will grasp readers if this is their jumping on point. Like I said earlier, there isn“t much dialogue but the panels do excellent work on telling you exactly what’s going on in Thanos“s mind. Where will the titan go next? What adventures await this new mortal Thanos? It“s a whole new ball game with this character and I can“t wait to see where it goes. Thanos #7 gets four out of five stars.
