REVIEW: THE CHAIR
The Chair
Written, Digital Inking, Letters and Cover by Peter Simeti
Pencils by Kevin Christensen
Let’s judge this book by its cover…A very dark cover in keeping with the tone of the book.
If you’re sitting comfortably we can begin… Sullivan, a man on death row for ten years, believes he’s wrongfully imprisoned for the murder of twelve children. His cell mates consist of a soldier who refused to kill children, a child killer, a rapist and a serial killer of couples. The prison is run by a sadistic warden who allows the guards to do whatever they want to the inmates. One by one the inmates are taken away and tortured before being executed. Sullivan is next but won’t go without a fight, forcing the wardens hand, Sullivan’s execution is pushed up. Now the only inmate in the whole cell block, Sullivan, is forced to face the brutal truth! He is the most ruthless killer the county has ever known, killer of men, women and children!
The warden has been trying for years to keep him calm but lately he believed the guards were up to something. Falling back into his murderous ways on the day of his execution, leading to a very dark and twisted turn I didn’t see coming. Very intriguing and compelling reading. The dark, almost charcoal look to the art is chilling.
The good, the bad and the star rating…
The Good – Fantastic twist. Well told.
The Bad – At times the type is a little hard to read.
The Stars – Easily a 5 star book. Really enjoyed this one.

- Hey, I'm Shane.
Been into comics since I was about 5. Loved watching Wonder Woman and superboy in the 80's.
I Started reading seriously about 10 years ago. Began to collect a few comic series, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Teen Titans, Justice League of America and Superman Batman all pre flashpoint. Being honest that was my favourite run.
