Review: The Flash #750
“The Flash Age” has begun, in this issue we will see a series of stories that tell us what it means to be Flash, Barry’s wife Iris was responsible for making a report with the Central City’s citizens who have witnessed the heroic acts of the “Scarlet Speeder” and Flash will recall some emblematic fights against of the rogues such as Gorilla Grodd, Tar Pit, Rainbow Raider, Mirror Master and of course Captain Cold, Flash will also take a trip through the Multiverse and will also remember recent key events in the DC Universe like Flashpoint and Rebirth, the moment of nostalgia will be broken by Godspeed who will take Barry to a trap where he will face face to face with the mysterious and powerful Paradox who will put Barry the challenge of fighting to death against Godspeed or else everything done by Barry over the years will be destroyed by Paradox.
The prologue of this issue is something that evidently marks the beginning of another Crisis in the DC Universe, Wally West now has the Speed ”‹”‹Force and the powers of Dr. Manhattan, as if that were not enough it also has the Metron’s Mobius chair (shall we call him a New God?), but he is not alone, he meets Tempus the protector of the Prime Earth, the fundamental base of the DC Universe, Wally and Tempus must repair the damage done to the continuity of the Multiverse for which Wally has a coldly calculated plan.
Flash again is the central subject of a new event or Crisis in the DC Universe, rumors about this new event have unleashed a panic in the world of comics because a lot of things has been speculated, and in Earth Prime this crisis took it’s first casualty: Dan DiDio editor in chief of DC Comics, the new event I mentioned previously would be known as Fifth Generation or 5G, all this panic has been taken advantage of by some exponents of Comicsgate who spread the gossip that DC would eventually be bought by Disney and will be merged with Marvel, but personally I think they are very exaggerated rumors, however, the last issues of Thor and Doomsday Clock have mysteriously crossed some somewhat mysterious references, in Thor # 2 it is clearly mentioned the Prime Earth that was devoured by Galactus and the Justice League heroes joining forces to avoid the catastrophe while in Doomsday Clock, Thor and Hulk were mentioned in some “Secret Crisis” event, which seems to show that something big between DC and Marvel is coming.
SCORE: 5/5
