REVIEW: Triskelion #1 – 3

G“Day Crusaders,

This is Dodgy in the mix bringing you Triskelion 1, 2 and 3 by Kathryn Briggs.

Here is a very unique comic, we as readers are taken on one heck of a ride. Firstly we are introduced to the main characters the same way characters are introduced in a program for a stage play (read it and you will know what I mean).

Triskelion covers the involvement of three main characters, first is a naive young girl and her cat named Sam, the second is Athena who wears Ancient Greek Hoplite-like who is the Goddess of wisdom and courage. The third character“s name is Circa; whose sinful perseverance is to lure the young lady into her guardianship. Athena can see right through Circa“s desire and is driven to prevent this innocence from being corrupted.

Triskelion was my #INFocus pick in Flipside Focus Episode 9, check it out here: http://www.undercovercapes.com/flipside-focus-episode-9/

I have not read a book so visually appealing, as I mentioned on Flipside Focus I referred to this book as a ”˜Visual Powerhouse“ as no two pages look-alike. To keep readers involved there are photo cut outs or other images from pop culture including Sailor Moon, She-Ra, comics and other literature which is rather unique for a comic book.

A story like this may not appeal to the fans of traditional comics books; readers who“d like to dive into something different will enjoy this. And kudos to Briggs as this would have taken a lot of patience and time to put this together. It is a string of genius. The dialogue is well laid out, once you look beyond the visuals and read the quotations and dialogue you will see the link and it works.

Do ya’self a favor and check it out!
