Skybound Launches J. Scott Campbell’s DANGER GIRL Artist’s Edition Kickstarter Today

Skybound, in partnership with Act 4 Publishing, launched the campaign for the Kickstarter-exclusive J. Scott Campbell’s Danger Girl Artist’s Edition, which will collect Campbell’s art from the wildly popular series in the Artist’s Edition format for the first time ever. The campaign is live now on Kickstarter.

J. Scott Campbell’s Danger Girl Artist’s Edition will collect over 150 pages of Danger Girl art from the first miniseries, as well covers from various Danger Girl books, model sheets, illustrations, and more, all in a gorgeous 12” x 17” hardcover Artist’s Edition book. Packed with rare sketches, page breakdowns, and an introduction by J. Scott Campbell, this is the ultimate collector’s edition for fans—a true celebration of Danger Girl. This special edition is only available on Kickstarter and comes with an exclusive, alternate cover.

Danger Girl, created by J. Scott Campbell and Andy Hartnell, debuted in 1998, quickly becoming a top-selling title and standout success. The series solidified J. Scott’s place among the industry’s top artists and marked a key milestone in the growth of the North American comic book market. Offbeat, playful, and action-packed, Danger Girl has proven itself a blast of a series that deserves to be celebrated and collected, from the ‘90s to today.

Also available at select pledge tiers is the Wildsiderz Artist’s Edition, which collects art from Wildsiderz #0-2, and a handful of pages from the never-before published #3, including preliminaries, layouts, character designs, and more, also in the 12” x 17” hardcover Artist’s Edition format. All the Wildsiderz originals were exquisitely rendered in gorgeous pencils by J. Scott. Co-created by J. Scott and Andy Hartnell in 2005, the series follows a group of teenage tech geniuses who develop experimental holographic technology that grants them animal-based superpowers. Though short-lived, Wildsiderz has become a cherished favorite among Campbell’s dedicated fans, making its inclusion in this Artist’s Edition campaign a long-awaited treat for collectors and longtime followers of his work.

“It was already exciting to announce my very first original artwork volume with Danger Girl Artist’s Edition, and it’s even more of a thrill to be launching two books at once with the addition of a volume dedicated to the pencil art of Wildsiderz!” said J. Scott Campbell. “Between these two hardcovers, fans will appreciate two different aspects of my original artwork up close and life-size.”

“Surprise!” said Alex Antone, Editorial Director at Skybound. “We’re thrilled to be bringing you not just one but TWO Artist’s Editions in one glorious campaign! J. Scott Campbell fans AND fans of breathtaking original art are eating well…and we’re just getting started! Stay tuned for even MORE surprises!”

These oversized hardcover books feature an incredible collection of original artwork, spanning covers and interior pages. Each piece has been carefully scanned at full size from J. Scott Campbell’s original drawings. Unless you’re holding Campbell’s originals, there is no better way to experience his art.

Further enhancing the collector’s experience, the Kickstarter campaign also includes an impressive lineup of exclusive rewards: a Kickstarter-exclusive slipcase that houses both books, signed bookplates, remarque sketches by J. Scott Campbell, prints, shirts, stickers, pins, and more.

Skybound continues to uphold its reputation as the biggest name in comic book publisher crowdfunding, setting records with the most funded comics campaigns on Kickstarter with The TRANSFORMERS and G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero Compendium Sets, and the most funded webcomic, Ava’s Demon Book Two: Aftermath. Skybound’s record-breaking slate of graphic novel campaigns that have elevated a diverse group of voices also includes Extremity: Signature Edition, Ava’s Demon Book One: Reborn, Mr. Lovenstein Presents: Failure, Mr. Lovenstein Presents: Feelings, Excellence, The King-Killing Queen, The Extra Fabulous Experience, and The Book of Shame: An Extra Fabulous Experience.

The J. Scott Campbell’s Danger Girl Artist’s Edition campaign is live now on Kickstarter, with stretch goals and campaign-exclusive products to be announced through the close of the campaign on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 12 p.m. PT.
