STAN VS. JACK: HOW TO FEUD THE MARVEL WAY LEADS A WAVE OF NEW TITLES FROM COSMIC LION PRODUCTIONS!

Dive into the annals of comics history with an exciting new publisher set to add to it.

After making an impressive splash with their move into the comics retail market in 2024, up-and-coming indie publisher, Cosmic Lion Productions, have announced their latest batch of solicitations, which includes two new comic series, two new graphic novels, and two reofferings as part of a special Creator Spotlight on cult cartoonist and living legend, Bob Fingerman (Minimum Wage, Dotty’s Inferno, Pariah Redux).

Leading the charge is Barry Tan’s highly-anticipated, Stan vs. Jack: How to Feud the Marvel Way, which clocks in at 74 pages and retails for $20. The greatest battle in comics wasn’t fought between fictional characters in four-color comic books; it was a battle fought between two actual titans of the comics industry, Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, the architects of the Marvel Universe. Stan vs. Jack: How to Feud the Marvel Way is an “illustrated dialogue” examining this legendary feud that has remained a controversial topic debated amongst comic fans to this day. “Comics will break your heart kid.” You better believe it!

Next up is the Cosmic Lion Primer, which comes jam-packed with 55 pages for just $10, and is a self-proclaimed “arto-biography” spanning the entire artistic life of Cosmic Lion founder and comics creator, Eli Schwab. This all new, super limited edition collection features Jesterman, Monkelion, The Ween Zine comics, Ringside-Theology and the obligatory TMNT content.

That’s joined by issue #1 of Adam Lemnah’s epic fantasy, Relic Hunter, which is 48 pages for $10. Driven by vengeance and fueled by the dark sorcery of an eldritch cult, Asif Ibn Hamza rescues his true love Jamila from a brothel run by the corrupt Knights Templar and runs into a trap set by his most dangerous enemy, the evil Wizard Al-Aduw. Their magical battle plays out across the stars and sets in motion an epic story that will span space and time! With pin-ups by Kevin Anthony Catalan, Ken Landgraf, Alex Delaney, and more!

And finally, the debut of Christian J. Meesey’s (a.k.a. Meesimo) Turbo Hawk #1 which is 32 pages for $8.00. In a future ravaged by alien invasion, mysterious rebellion soldier Tradd, The Blades of Vengeance himself, was tasked with stopping an evil alien plot, but not before the Prometheans were able to zap the strange asset into another dimension. Now, after Tradd puzzlingly disappeared, Turbo Hawk is sent to pick up the pieces and ends up getting pulled into a quest for the killers of his fallen lady love. Is his former teammate, the deadly Mr. Nullus somehow involved? And who is that lurking in the shadows?!

If that’s not enough, Cosmic Lion are reoffering Bob Fingerman’s latest magnum opus, Printopia, as their focus for Creator Spotlight month – alongside the reissue of Gideon Kendall and Doug Latino’s Publisher’s Weekly reviewed, Wait It Gets Worse, which includes bonus material from a host of cartooning greats including the aforementioned Bob.

Printopia is Bob Fingerman’s first all-new graphic novel in over a decade, and is a smart, satirical, story set in NYC, featuring a cast of eccentric creators unleashing their artistic visions on the world. Part Ghost World, part acid trip, all entertaining – experience what Matt Groening described as … a wild graphic novel that is brilliantly written and masterfully drawn, and it’s funny as hell.”

Young Darla Vogel works at Printopia, a New York City print shop catering to fevered creatives whose passion to release their brainchildren into the world has brought them there to self-publish their novels, ‘zines, comics, literary journals and more. Though Darla outwardly mocks these curiously confident auteurs, she secretly envies them as she labors away on her own authorial efforts. If you threw Ghost World, Catcher in the Rye, and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty – with lashings of Timothy Leary and visitations from The Flinstones’ Great Gazoo – into Seth Brundle’s telepod from The Fly, the mutant baby might just be Printopia!

“I’m far from the new kid in town, but Eli presented an enthusiastic fresh breath of air. His lack of jadedness was infectious,” adds the man himself, Bob Fingerman. “So, when Printopia needed a home, after a great meeting, I knew Printopia had found its home in Cosmic Lion. And I couldn’t be happier with the results. It’s by far the best-looking book of my career, big and beautiful. Very proud of it!”

Printopia is an original graphic novel which comes in a gorgeous hardcover edition featuring 104 pages for just $25.00. You can find it at your local comic shop or direct from the Cosmic Lion Productions website – along with a range of their other titles: https://cosmiclionproductions.com/comix-shop-1/ols/products.
