SPORTS SUPERHEROES VOLUME #1: STEPHEN CURRY is the first official graphic novel about 4x NBA Champion and 2x MVP Stephen Curry, who overcame the odds to become one of the greatest basketball players of all time!
Stephen Curry is considered one of the—if not the—greatest shooters of all time. But his road to greatness was filled with plenty of bumps and obstacles. Coaches and players always told him he was too small and too short to be truly great.
“We’re excited to be working with Penguin Young Readers once again for Unanimous Publishing’s next project, Sports Superheroes Volume #1: Stephen Curry,” said Stephen Curry and Erick Peyton, Co-Founders of Unanimous Media. “We hope that when kids pick up the books in this series to read all about their favorite athletes, it not only instills excitement and grows their love for reading, but also inspires them to reach for the stars and accomplish their dreams.”
Francesco Sedita, President & Publisher of Penguin Workshop added, “Talk about a dream team! Stephen Curry, Erick Peyton, Rich Korson and Josh Bycel are the perfect combination of talent and vision to create these smart, fun, and inspirational titles. We’ve been so fortunate to work with Stephen and Unanimous Media in the past and this is the perfect evolution of our partnership.”
Stephen Curry’s picture books, I HAVE A SUPERPOWER and I AM EXTRAORDINARY, encourage young readers to believe in themselves and teach them about the power of being underrated, no matter what struggles they are up against. These projects further Stephen’s commitment to increasing literacy rates and making culturally appropriate books available to all students through his publishing projects and foundation Eat. Learn. Play. In this graphic novel, Curry’s message of not letting anyone underestimate your greatness is perfect for readers ages 8 – 12, and any reader who wants to learn more about Stephen’s life and back story, brought to life by illustrator Damion Scott’s vibrant and dynamic art!
