THE RICHARD CORBEN LIBRARY ADDS “ROWLF AND OTHER FANTASY STORIES” TO THE COLLECTION
The next volume from Dark Horse Books features a new introduction by Hayao Miyazaki!
Dark Horse Books presents Rowlf and Other Fantasy Stories, the next volume in the Richard Corben Library. This masterpiece, written and illustrated by the celebrated artist, Grand Prix at Angoulême award-winner, and Will Eisner Hall of Fame member Richard Corben, collects a trilogy of werewolf stories in a beautiful hardcover edition. This volume includes a new introduction by Hayao Miyazaki (Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle), a postface by project art director José Villarrubia, a cover gallery, original lettering scripts, and more.
Rowlf is a postmodern take on Beauty and the Beast that mixes high fantasy with dystopian science fiction. The Beast of Wolfton and its sequel, The Spirit of the Beast, are ironic love stories of a werewolf family saga. The book closes with a poignant free adaptation of one of the Japanese legends by Lafcadio Hearn called The Story of Oteg.
Rowlf and Other Fantasy Stories (128 pages, hardcover, 6.625″ x 10.1875″) will be available in bookstores on August 4, 2025 and in comic shops on August 5, 2025. It is now available to preorder at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Things From Another World, and your local comic shop and bookstore for $39.99.
