Voodoo, Zombies, Gunslingers: Yelly Studio Is Ready to Conquer Kickstarter (Again)
At the start of March, the Yelly Studio team made their return to Kickstarter—this time with “Atticus Crowe & The Voodoo Witch” #01, a comic inspired by classic horror, Southern Gothic aesthetics, and the Western genre. It’s the perfect pick for fans of “Red Dead Redemption 2,” “Evil Dead,” or “Night of the Living Dead.”
Ultimately, it’s planned as a three-issue run, with the first installment packing at least 36 pages of dynamic action. If you’re already interested, let’s not wait any longer — the campaign is live and you can grab the issue #01 in both the standard and limited Kickstarter cover. And what’s behind the cover? The video below does a pretty good job of capturing the essence of the comic.
Who’s Behind This?
Artwork is by Dawid Malik, who brings several years of experience as a graphic artist and art director in the gaming industry.
“The last few months have been intense, both in terms of preparing the comic and the campaign,” says Dawid. “I think the guys’ experience and keen eyes helped get this project exactly where we want it to be! I can’t wait to share all the new adventures of Atticus. Adrian did a fantastic job, and I’ll do my best to make sure this action-packed story is a feast for our readers’ eyes. See you in the swamps!”
Story and dialogue come from Adrian Liput, the co-creator of the Space Viking saga “Battle Code: Ragnarök.” Through that sci-fi adventure series, Yelly Studio first charted its course on Kickstarter, each time clearly surpassing its funding goal.
Also on board is ALGOYO—the artist behind “Ragnarök.” Here, he’s the power behind the scenes (officially, the project manager), making sure everything runs smoothly.
Why Kickstarter?
What prompted a return to the world’s largest crowdfunding platform? Adrian explains:
“We’ve always wanted to be part of this huge, international community of creative people who bring their dreams to life, project by project. At the same time, we want to help shatter the false belief that to succeed on Kickstarter you have to be a big mainstream brand or start off with hundreds—if not thousands—of fans.”
