Wish Upon a Star Launches on Kickstarter

Irish comic collective Limit Break Comics have launched the Kickstarter campaign for their new sci-fi fairy tale anthology Wish Upon a Star.

Irish comic collective Limit Break Comics has today launched the Kickstarter campaign for its fourth major comics anthology, Wish Upon a Star. The book collects 4-page comics from 22 teams of creators from all over the world, reimagining fairy tales through the lens of far future science fiction. The campaign seeks to raise €15,000 by 20 October 2024, to pay creators and fund the first print run.

Wish Upon a Star is edited by Paul Carroll and Gary Moloney. It follows in the success of Limit Break Comics’ earlier anthologies exploring Irish folklore through sci-fi and fantasy, Greek myth through crime noir and Norse mythology through horror, respectively Turning Roads, Down Below and Fractured Realms.

The book comes with cover art by Nate Stockman & Dee Cunniffe, following cover contributions by Declan Shalvey (Turning Roads), Stephen Mooney & Triona Farrell (Down Below), and Nick Roche & JP Jordan (Fractured Realms).

Wish Upon a Star will be accompanied by a number of other rewards on Kickstarter, including a collection of the original fairy tales, art prints, a brand new DnD 5e compatible supplement, and an online comics writing course, along with retailer tiers with international shipping. Limit Break Comics’ earlier titles are also available as physical and digital add-ons.
