Traditional board and card games still have a lot of fans, among those who are fascinated by the superhero stories as well. You name the theme or concept, and it probably already has its adaptation in the form of some classic game. The DC Universe is no different, and it offers a few interesting examples that any DC devotee would find worthy of their time. There is Bat-man Chess, officially recognized by Warner Bros., with the purple checkered board and brightly painted, highly detailed figurines that make playing amusing and present themselves nicely on the shelf as collectibles. DC Comics Top Trumps Match is a curious comic edition of a well-known cube game Match where the objective is to gather up five tiles in the row, in this case, choosing from your favorite comic figures. Lastly, customized versions of the timeless trading game Monopoly are always crowd pleasers. Superman Returns Monopoly contains pictures from the movie of the same title, and it“s tailored to the Man of Steel theme.

One of the most liked DC heroes has to be Batman, who was recently announced to be the first inductee to the Comic-Con Museum Character Hall of Fame. We admire his passion for justice and high intelligence, and his adventures often required outsmarting his adversaries, so any strategy game featuring the Dark Knight should be like that, even if we were to assume villainous roles on occasion. Batman Gotham City Strategy Game, being similar to Settlers of Catan, involves taking control over the land and leveling up to the King of Crime in the Go-tham City title. Another stimulating proposition is Batman: Almost Got ‘Im, inspired by the famous episode of “Batman: The Animated Series.”“ Players take on the personas of the noto-rious Gotham criminals and have to identify the secret Batman among themselves. The me-chanics are based on two card games: the party game Werewolf and poker, which playing poker online these days can be as easy as opening up the browser, installing software or downloading apps on your smartphone. Not being overly complicated as well as quite engaging, it“s little wonder why it“s so popular and why other gaming ideas come from this concept. Continuing with the deck-building family of gameplay, there are several other interesting card entertainment titles, including, above all, DC Comics Deck-Building Game and DC Comics Deck-Building Games: RIVALS – Batman and Joker.

Since Superman, Batman and the whole bunch will always hold a special place in the heart of a real comic book reader, traditional and innovative board games featuring our favorite heroes and villains from the DC Universe could be a great idea for an evening with friends. What“s more is that we can enjoy all the fun even when the power is down.
