Diamond Select Toys Star Wars Select Chewbacca Figure Review

Today in the Toyverse we celebrate May the Fourth by looking at something special. That’s right it’s time to travel to galaxy far away and look at the newest Star Wars Select Figure to be released. Chewbacca joins the line and he is a beast of a figure. Let’s dive in and examine him a bit more.

The Design:

No reuse here folks. This Chewbacca is big and hairy and scary. The paints work really good and capture the look of the character really well. The Upper body, arms, and heads are look great. The lower legs are not bad but I will say the legs look a bit short. Overall though I have no other things to point out except that you will love him along side other Star Wars Select figures.

Articulation:

Overall I personally don’t have a problem with how Chewie moves. His arms work good, the single joints, don’t break up the sculpt, and I can pretty much get him into any pose I have seen him in film. Okay maybe not the welding scenes in Empire, but overall not too bad. I do wish he had a diaphragm cut at the upper body, but I also understand it would really hurt the sculpt. So its up to you how you should feel, but I dig it.

Accessories:

Chewbacca does come packed in with a lot. Multiple satchels, his trusty bowcaster, another rifle type weapon, and that’s it. I think an alternate head of him roaring would have been great along with some additional hands. But he has some fun stuff packed in that add variety.

The Jury Has Reached A Verdict:

Overall I love Chewbacca. To see Diamond tackle him in the line early on is a real treat. It makes wait with arms wide open for Han Solo. This should be up on the Disney Store website by the time this article goes live, so pick him up before he is captured by evil bounty hunters. A special thank you to Diamond Select for sending this out to review.
