Comedy Records to Release NFTs (non-fungible tokens) Limited-Edition Series
Comedy Records, Canada’s first record label dedicated to releasing stand up and sketch comedy albums, will release a limited-edition series of NFTs (non-fungible tokens) with Fanaply featuring exclusive digital access to the Comedy Records Presents 10 Year compilation album. Released in 2020, Comedy Records Presents 10 Year was previously only available on vinyl, and SiriusXM Comedy Channels. The limited-edition Comedy Records series of NFTs will be available Thursday, July 15 at 12pm ET at fanaply.com/comedyrecords.
NFTs, blockchain-based tokens, let fans celebrate their fandom with a commemorative piece of digital merchandise that also unlocks exclusive content. There are three editions of Comedy Records NFTs available, all of which come with a free download of Comedy Records Presents 10 Year. The first edition NFT also includes a signed digital poster and a rare, signed digital basketball card, while the second edition NFT comes with a signed digital poster.
The Comedy Records NFT release is notable as purchases are handled as standard e-commerce transactions, letting fans who do not own cryptocurrencies or a crypto wallet still participate in this new form of collectible memorabilia. Comedy Records NFTs are also environmentally friendly because of the use of a custom “managed wallet” that greatly reduces the carbon footprint of the transaction compared to most standard NFTs.
The Comedy Records NFTs feature comedians from the Comedy Records roster including K Trevor Wilson, Arthur Simeon, Clare Belford, Monty Scott, Nick Reynoldson, Jay & Eytan, Todd Graham, Mark DeBonis, Efthimios Nasiopoulos, Pat Burtscher, Dena Jackson, Garrett Jamieson and Sprattacus.
Supplies are limited and once they are gone Comedy Records will never make more, making these truly limited-edition and scarce thanks to blockchain technology. Fans can grab theirs here while supplies last.
