Darth Vader Comic And A Spinoff Movie “Star Wars” Fans Deserve
Many fans may not feel so great about the possibility of a Darth Vader spinoff movie. However, a new comic just out has shown that the film universe has missed a few great stories. The prequels may have focused on the story of Anakin, and the trilogy wrapped up with him donning the familiar mask and armour of Vader. And from then on, fans were left with nothing new. Since then, the TV show Clone Wars made some effort to bridge the gap between Anakin and Vader. But the new Vader comic is showing that the real creation story is worth seeing.
The Darth Vader comic expands on the preexisting mythology relating to his activity just before A New Hope. The biggest story of the series and one that creators Soule and Camoncoli have been looking forward to telling from the beginning is how Vader entered the world of legend. As they“ve pointed out, we“re already familiar with how he became the man behind the mask. The story of how Vader came into complete command of the Imperial forces, fighting all the time the last ounce of soul inside it, is set to be a hell of a ride. In the imagination of some fans, this may be the fan favourite movie that never was.
Will the New Vader Be Embraced by Fans?
That said, there are definitely going to be many Star Wars aficionados who simply can“t stomach the idea. Already, the franchise has fallen a long way, and with every new lazy exploitation of the brand, fans become more and more nostalgic for the days when the characters meant something. Some may also point out that Vader has been done to death, and we really don“t need to dwell any further on the character. However, as this new comic is proving, the problem is less that Vader lacks complexity to be explored, and more than Lucas fumbled the incredibly creation he had in front of him.
The comic has the opportunity to explore the political nuances that the films were forced to skit over. The Jedi Purge carried out with Order 66 was aimed at removing all enemies of Palpatine, and also to help Anakin erase his own history. It was pretty obvious what Vader“s origins were to anyone who witnessed life before the purge, given that Anakin had already been heading in that direction before he took on the mask and armour. However, thanks to the leap carried out by the films, we are now presented with a mere handful of characters who knew Anakin before Vader.
The Comics Cover Many Hidden Aspects
In many ways, it“s that grey area that provides a lot of the most compelling aspects of Anakin/Vader“s life. The truth of his transformation cannot be erased from history in such an easy way as the films suggested. The creative team have been enjoying themselves with Vader“s integration into the Imperial hierarchy. The idea that soldiers are forced to swear themselves to some new lord makes for some exciting moments. As with much of the comics so far, it“s obvious that they“re making the most of their unique position to explore some genuinely interesting aspects of the universe and character. We can only hope there will be more to follow.
