What is a “Cyber Novel”?

Designed for reading on phones and tablets, DevilsGame is a groundbreaking fusion of storytelling and technology — a novel reimagined for the modern age, where immersive, interactive elements transform the way you read, blending fiction and reality in a way that’s never been done before. Multi-level storytelling includes pop-up illustrations and interactive links that plunge readers into the heart of the action to make DevilsGame an addictive and wickedly funny thriller that will keep readers riveted.

What inspired Micheal to create a “Cyber Novel”?

“With DevilsGame, I set out to create ‘fiction to go,’ with brief chapters for the mobile reader riding the subway, in line at the airport, waiting at the laundromat,” says Michael Wolk. “My inspiration to create a cyber novel came from watching people on the Tokyo subways reading ‘cellphone novels’ that delivered bite-sized chapters by text. You would see young folks madly scrolling with their thumbs. I realized that I, myself, had stopped turning pages. Books and magazines piled up on the nightstand while I happily read on my phone. I had this in mind as I wrote DevilsGame, a story about our smartphones going haywire, told on your smartphone. It’s for people who read books in print and those who don’t read books at all.”
