NYCC 2025: šŸ‰ The King of Beers Meets the King of Monsters

Picture this: your classic Blue Ribbon can gets a monster makeover. Gone is the usual PBR look instead, you’ve got Godzilla himself flexin’ across over 60 million cans and boxes nationwide. Yup, SIXTY. MILLION. The Big G’s about to be in more hands than a Friday night pizza.

Kristin Parcell, Toho International’s GM, summed it up perfectly:

ā€œWe’re always hunting for fresh ways to expand Godzilla’s presence in culture and teaming up with Pabst, a brand with its own beastly legacy, is the perfect combo for the King of Monsters.ā€

Translation? They’re here to stomp boring marketing flat and replace it with pure kaiju chaos and cold beer bliss.

Dropping this October, the special-edition cans are rocking a bold black-and-white style that screams collectible from every angle. Each can’s a piece of art, and if that’s not cool enough, some of ā€˜em come with a blue atomic breath effect that glows when your beer hits that perfect chill.
Yeah your drink’s literally telling you when it’s ā€œGodzilla-ready.ā€

The 25-ounce single-serve cans? Oh, they go nuclear. Those giants feature three extra Attack Peter Kaiju designs because regular-sized monsters just ain’t enough for this party.

Let’s talk about the art, because PBR didn’t half-step here. The can series is an evolution of Pabst’s legendary Art Can Series, featuring four distinct beasts:

  • Mechagodzilla the metal menace.

  • King Ghidorah the three-headed titan of terror.

  • Mothra the celestial queen of wings and wonder.

  • Godzilla the OG, the big boss, the atomic-breath icon himself.

Each one’s wrapped in a detailed backdrop inspired by Japanese mythology, carved and crafted by none other than Attack Peter the Cuban-American creative juggernaut whose linoleum block printwork has graced Mondo, Marvel, Sideshow, and now, your cooler.

Attack Peter (aka Peter Santa-Maria) doesn’t just draw monsters he etches legends. His hands-on technique gives each kaiju a raw, tangible vibe, like the ink’s still drying from battle.

Rachel Keeton, Senior Brand Director at PBR, dropped the mic on this one:

ā€œBringing Godzilla into the PBR universe is massive but teaming with Attack Peter? That took things to a whole other dimension. His handcrafted process redefines what our Art Can Series stands for.ā€

Attack Peter matched that energy with pure passion:

ā€œGodzilla’s opened so many doors for me this collab is another chapter in that journey! To see my block print designs for Godzilla, Mothra, Mechagodzilla, and King Ghidorah show up in coolers and parties across the country? That’s a monster-sized dream come true!ā€

So here’s the deal this ain’t just a beer drop. This is art meets culture, legend meets lager, Brooklyn grit meets Tokyo thunder. When Toho and PBR link up with Attack Peter, you don’t just get cans you get collectibles, conversation starters, and instant clout at any party. So when October hits, stock up. Because when that blue glow flashes, it’s time to unleash your inner kaiju.

Crack it. Sip it. Roar.

Godzilla x PBR The only thing scarier than missing out… is running out.

Big WEPA salute to the King of Monsters!
