Film and Music Icon John Carpenter to Play One-Night-Only Concert in New York in Advance of L.A. Residency
Tickets for October 10 ‘Horrormeister’ Concert Go on Sale March 12, Adding East Coast Opportunity to See Carpenter’s First Musical Performances Since 2018
Following enormous demand for four Halloween-time performances in L.A., film and music icon John Carpenter will play a single night at the Knockdown Center in New York this October, offering fans on the East Coast a chance to see his first musical performances in more than six years.
Presale for tickets to the one-night-only HORRORMEISTER, will be available to the general public beginning at 10 a.m. Eastern Time on Wednesday, March 12 with general admission tickets available the following day. Tickets can be purchased at https://theofficialjohncarpenter.com/tour/.
Featuring Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies, this single-night concert performance on Oct. 10 will feature music from many of Carpenter’s 20 films and his five albums, offering a galvanizing musical tour of Carpenter’s astonishing imagination and visions.
“As soon as we announced my four-night L.A. residency, the response was incredible, and I wanted to offer my fans on the East Coast a chance to hear our music without having to fly across the country,” Carpenter said. “With a one-night show, we’ll get to really dig deep into our musical souls, which is something I can’t wait to share.”
The just-announced New York show and the L.A. residency at the Belasco Theatre mark the first time Carpenter has performed live since 2018.

As director, writer, producer and composer, Carpenter has brought to the screen some of the most popular and influential films in history, beginning with his 1978 breakthrough, Halloween.
Carpenter has directed an astonishing array of influential films, including horror classics
The Thing, The Fog, Christine and In the Mouth of Madness, as well as Assault on Precinct 13, Escape from New Yorkand Escape from L.A., the Oscar®-nominated Starman, Big Trouble in Little China, Village of the Damned, Vampires, Memoirs of an Invisible Man, Ghosts of Mars and The Ward.
For TV, Carpenter received Cable ACE Award for writing the HBO Film El Diablo, and directed the acclaimed, Emmy®-winning Elvis, starring Kurt Russell. With Tobe Hooper, he co-directed Showtime’s Body Bags, and most recently created, produced and directed the Peacock docu-horror series Suburban Screams.
As a composer and recording artist, he has created Lost Themes, three widely acclaimed albums of non-soundtrack music, as well as two albums called Anthology that include his inimitable film music.
Carpenter, with his wife Sandy King, has also created Storm King Comics, an acclaimed line of comic books and graphic novels.
He is the recipient of dozens of awards and honors, including the Le Carrosse D’Or (Golden Coach) from the French Directors Guild during the 2019 Cannes Film Festival; and lifetime achievement honors from the Bram Stoker Awards, the Online Film Critics Society, and the Saturn Awards (George Pal Memorial Award). In 2025, Carpenter will be honored with both a lifetime achievement award from the Los Angeles Film Critics Association and, for the first time in his long career, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Born in Carthage, New York, and raised in Bowling Green, Kentucky, Carpenter attended the University of Southern California School of Cinema, where he directed his first theatrically released feature film, the 1975 science-fiction comedy Dark Star.
