Hailed by Billboard magazine as “the single most electrifying voice in Christian music,” Russ Taff has garnered six GRAMMY® Awards, 16 Gospel Music Association Dove Awards and has been inducted into the GMA Hall of Fame an unprecedented three times— as a soloist, and as a member of The Imperials and the Gaither Vocal Band. Taff’s iconic career has now spanned over four decades.
The Kickstarter campaign, which launched earlier this month with a video from “Cover Story” Executive Producer Steve Taylor, has been receiving enthusiastic engagement from fans around the world. In addition to allowing fans to preorder the album as a digital download, the campaign also offers several levels of support including a custom collector vinyl version of “Cover Story,” a Dolby Atmos listening party in Nashville hosted by Russ and special guests, and even a personal phone call from the man himself.
The upcoming album’s first single “Tear This Building Down” — also known as “If I Had My Way” or “Samson and Delilah” — is a historic tune that has been recorded by such musical luminaries such as Bob Dylan, Ike and Tina Turner, the Grateful Dead, and even The Boss himself, Bruce Springsteen. While this song has moved millions of listeners for over a hundred years, the original author is unknown. Russ lends his singular voice to again bring this biblical tale to his Gospel audience and the world.
