Pimping the Long Box #3

Greeting my Comic Crusaders family. I hope you’re all safe and sound in this crazy world. I am hanging in there. Having good and bad days. Waiting and planning for when the world goes back to normal. As always, please remember that it is not what happens to us but what we do about it. We don’t need sight to have a vision. I know a lot of us are sad, upset, depressed and sick and tired of the current state of the world. But I’m asking you, please just hang on and stay calm. This too shall pass and it will get better. If no one has said they love you today, remember your boy the Comic Pimp loves you. Now go chase your dreams. Those who chase dreams make them come true.

I love you all, stay safe and stay strong. When this is all over, by all means go get yourself laid, paid and made. That is the Pimp and American way. Now, here’s a few things in the comic and pop culture market that are striking my fancy.

Wandavison is awesomesauce. I just wanted Wandavison on Disney Plus. I have to say, i was pleasantly surprised by this show. I was not expecting a dark sitcom from the M.C.U By the way, I am spoiling it in three…..two…..one….

Wandavision is being spoiled as of now. The black and white, 1950s, I love Lucy homage was amazing. The chemistry between Paul Bentally and Liz Olson is just amazing and they pull off a married couple really well. I really enjoyed the breakfast scene and the dinner scene was funny as all fuck. My question is, is the mom from That 70’s show type cast? Is that actress the one that played the milf Kitty Forman always going to be playing moms and wives? I like how the reality aspect of Wanda’s powers are being explored, especially in episode 2. That opening credit scene was a great homage to I Dream of Genie and Bewitched, Wanda Liz Olson could play a new version of Samie from Bewitched and that would reek of awesomeness. The vision eating the gum and being drunk was just funny as all fuck, and is that swarm at the end? Did the MCU really sue the Hydra Villain made of bees? Really, that is fucking epic.

If you’re trying to make money with Wanda Vision, I would suggest investing in these comics and toys. For toys action figures, I would go with The Avengers United and They Stand figures from that piece of crap animated series from 1999-2000 it was only thirteen episodes and was really bad… but to be fair, it was at the end of the Fox Kids run so the studio and Fox didn’t care at that point but the figures go for decent money and there is a Vision and the Scarlet Witch figure.

For comics, I would go with the following four books.

Avengers #128 This is when Wanda starts her training with Agantha Harkness, the witch that is her next door neighbour in the show. Harkness first appeared in Fantastic Four #94 but this Avengers #128 is a hidden gem.

My second Scarlet Witch book to get a pimp slap is Vision and the Scarlet Witch first mini series #4. This is the issue that reveals that Magneto is Wanda’s father. I believe Wanda Vision, I’ll connect the XMen to the MCU and that they will use Magneto as the way to do so. I am also hoping for a Quicksilver cameo and that they get Evan Peters to come back as Quicksilver. Does anyone even remember who played Quicksilver in Age of Ultron?

My third pimp book is Avengers #230. This issue explores the origins of Wanda’s hex powers and chaos magic. I am jacked to see the limits of Wanda’s powers. They show in the comics that it is limitless, so let’s see where it goes. This comic starts it off.

Last but not least, this run of very cheap (like fifty cent) comic book cheap west coast Avengers #45-60 explores so much more. I would also suggest picking up avengers #184-187. It showcases the First Origin in detail for the twins Wanda and Quicksilver and of course, giant sized Avengers #4 is where the Vision and Scarlet Witch get married. But answer me this, how in Gods name do The Vision and Wanda have sex? How can an android fuck a human and not kill her? Does Wanda use her magic to create bedroom magic? I need answers

Quick question for my crusaders family. Do you think in the current lockdown and pandemic climate, is it the right time to open a comic book store> Please answer yes or no in the comments. Thanks for any answers and thoughts, Batwoman season two is off to a great start. I dug Ryan’s back story. Without spoiling too much, I really loved all the scenes with Rachel Scartens, Alice Alice is the main villain of the show. I believe that Detective Comics #854 which Alice’s first appearance is a key comic for years to come. Alice’s interaction with Jake Kane is just amazing. I am sad to see Hush go so soon and I wonder how they will either explain Kate Kane’s absence or find a way to bring her back into the show. If you can find them for under ten dollars or under, you will want to pick up that Batgirl #50, the final issue of the Batgirl series that introduces Ryan Wilder to the comics. There is a second print that goes for #5 but that Middleton cover is just awesomesauce. So enjoy and stop hating on the CW.
