Primordios: Enchanting Creations and Heartfelt Moments at Puerto Rico Comic Con 2025

The Puerto Rico Comic Con (PRCC) has become one of the most anticipated pop culture events in the Caribbean, uniting artists, cosplayers, collectors, and fans of all things geek. Every year, hundreds of creators transform the convention center into a wonderland of imagination, and among them in 2025 was the magical world of Primordios. We had the pleasure of catching up with this unique artist at their booth—brimming with handmade mushrooms, mandrakes, enchanted wands, and mythical creatures—for an interview with Comic Crusaders.

Tell us your artist or studio name, and how many times have you tabled at PRCC?
Primordios:
This was my second year, and I hope there are many more to come. I hold a special place in my heart for the first year—2024—because it was the first time I presented my work to such a wonderful audience. It was a learning experience that profoundly shaped my artistic path.

What do you usually sell or showcase at your booth?
All of my pieces are original creations made with polymer clay—mushrooms, gnomes, mandrakes, wands and brooms, winged hearts, Santa Muerte figures, witch hats, and in 2025, I introduced some fabulous Sapos Conchos (chunky toads)!

How do you prepare for an event like PRCC? Any tips or lessons learned?
I prepare almost year-round. I create pieces little by little both for Comic Con and for general sales. My advice? Start prepping calmly and steadily throughout the year so you don’t feel overwhelmed at the end.

What’s your booth setup or strategy like?
I always make sure my logo is front and center—not hidden behind me. I decorate with strategically placed artificial plants and lighting to really make the pieces pop.

What’s your favorite part about selling at PRCC?
The people—hands down. Seeing their faces light up with wonder or joy when they see a Primordio is priceless. Hearing stories about how they already have one and want a new companion, or the personal connection they feel to a gnome, mandrake, or wand—it’s magical. And of course, seeing everyone dressed as their favorite character is pure joy. It’s a community I deeply appreciate.

Any unforgettable fan or artist moments you’d like to share?
So many fans come specifically to find me—that fills my heart. Others who couldn’t make it send friends, siblings, or cousins to pick up a Primordio for them. The fellow artists and vendors around me have always been amazing too—we help each other out and really bond during those long hours.

Which items tend to sell the most at cons?
Mandrakes are always in high demand. This year, I also introduced a line of mushrooms embedded with quartz, and they were very popular.

What’s the biggest challenge when selling at cons like PRCC?
Having enough of everything is definitely a challenge. Another big one is staying organized within the limited booth space—keeping things like change, bags, and packaging within easy reach makes a huge difference.

Has PRCC opened new doors for you as an artist?
Absolutely. I feel very fortunate to have been part of it these past years. PRCC is an important event and has really helped me reach a broader audience I might not have connected with otherwise. I’m grateful to the PRCCON team for creating such valuable opportunities for artists and creators.

What advice would you give someone tabling at PRCC for the first time?
Start preparing the moment you know you’ve got a spot—or even before. You have to put in the work all year to be ready for the incredible number of people who show up at PRCCON. It’s a magical event that demands real effort—but it’s effort fueled by joy, passion, and love.

We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Primordios for taking the time to share their story, passion, and behind-the-scenes insights with us. It’s clear that every piece crafted is filled with love, imagination, and a deep connection to the magical world they’ve created. Their booth was not only a visual treat but also a reflection of the vibrant creative spirit that defines Puerto Rico Comic Con.

We also want to sincerely thank Puerto Rico Comic Con for inviting Comic Crusaders to cover the event as official press. It was an honor to witness the energy, dedication, and community spirit firsthand. PRCC continues to be a powerful platform for artists, fans, and creators to connect and celebrate all things geek and creative. Until next year—¡nos vemos en el próximo Puerto Rico Comic Convention!
