PRODUCT REVIEW: MAINGEAR CLASSIC BACKPACK
Maingear, a company known for making top of the line gaming PC’s and is also in the gaming furniture business via the The Forma R/GT Gaming chairs (see our review here) is now doing it again by going producing accessories for the techie/gamer in your life.
Maingear was awesome to send one our way just in time to use for NYCC 2019. We went with the Aspen (white backpack) We know in NY with a white back? Sure, its about the look! The color stands out with the reds thrown in, very eye-catching! The bag itself is made of a water-resistant nylon exterior and the zippers are also water resistant, your equipment will be safe!
As you see from the above pics, this bag has some very cool extras that make it unique. First look you notice the padding, it’s placed in the perfect locations that cause stress on your back with traditional backpacks, with this one however, you can carry the world and not feel the weight with the padded weight distributing straps. The bottom pads have double duty as they are also pockets. One of the pockets comes with a built in Tile, should you misplace your bag via the Tile app you can set off an alarm as well as GPS it’s location, and there’s also a luggage strap. The bag then has 2 exterior side pockets, 1 to hold a drink or tripod the other can house a back-up battery with a cable pass through at the bottom.
The inside is impressive, many pockets, roomy and the feel, so soft! You can carry a 15 inch laptop, 13 inch tablet and your Nintendo Switch device. Each pocket is padded plush to keep your equipment secure and free of scratches. At NYCC I carried a laptop, 2 Canon video cameras, tripod, wireless mic system, headset and goodies purchased at show and I still had room to add more. This backpack handles the weight amazingly well and I was comfortable all 4 days using this bag.
This backpack is one of the most comfortable backpacks I’ve ever used! If you are looking for style, comfort and room to carry all your equipment this is the bag for you, we highly recommend it, and the $99.99 price is fair for the high quality product you will be getting. Maingear continues to deliver top of the line products for techies/gamers to enjoy and thrive! Can’t wait to see what they do next….
SCORE: 5/5
