With a blend of urban Latino lyrics and hip-hop techniques, Salazar draws inspiration from his love for hip-hop and Latin culture, creating a bilingual urban Latino artist with a massive fan base in Miami. The album also honors Salazar’s late father, a Cuban baseball legend, through baseball-themed references woven into the music.
With his latest album, “Triple Corona,” Salazar “El Tabaquero” proudly embraces his Cuban heritage and pays tribute to his late father, Rene “Macuto” Salazar, a former third-base & catcher professional baseball player of the Cuban National League from Havana, Cuba. The album’s title symbolizes the highest offensive accolade a player can receive in a season, reflecting the importance of baseball to Cuban culture and highlighting the strong connection between the country’s heritage and its love of the game.
Salazar’s music portrays the realistic experiences of a young first-generation Cuban-American living in the United States, with a powerful voice and street-based lyrics that speak to the urban Spanish community. His talent and dedication have earned him recognition from the local independent label, Strictly Business Records, and collaborations with renowned artists such as Nelly Furtado, producer Timbaland, Miami legends Pitbull, Trick Daddy, and songwriter Jean Rodriguez from Coast City, also known as the younger brother of Luis Fonsi.
“I am thrilled to release ‘Triple Corona,’ which is a tribute to my late father,” said Salazar. “My father was my inspiration and mentor, and this album is a celebration of his life and legacy. I hope my fans will enjoy the album as much as I enjoyed creating it.”
