Snoop Dogg causes searches for ‘quit weed’ to explode 1,152%

Analysis of Google search data reveals that online searches for ‘quit weed’ exploded 1,152% worldwide in the same week Snoop Dogg announced he was giving up smoke after much consideration and conversation with his family.

A new finding by gosmokefree.co.uk reveals that online searches for ‘quit weed’ have skyrocketed to over ten times the normal average volume in one week – a monumental spike in people Googling to quit weed, according to analysis of Google search data. Searches for ‘quit smoking’ have risen 492% worldwide in the last week, as well as ‘stop smoking weed’ rising 511%, as a result of Snoop Dogg issuing a statement of him giving up smoking. Snoop has encouraged fans to question how to give up smoking, with searches for ‘how to quit smoking’ exploding 308% worldwide in the past seven days.

 

Hip-hop star Snoop Dogg, who is a globally renowned weed enthusiast and has a personal blunt roller, Renegade PerRana, dropped the bombshell lifestyle change to quit smoking on Thursday the 16th on Instagram and Twitter. Snoop Dogg, who has 82.5 million followers on Instagram, has gained a further 59,413 Instagram followers in just 12 hours after his announcement to the world.

A spokesperson for gosmokefree.co.uk commented on the findings: “Snoop Dogg’s bombshell news has come as a massive shock to fans as the hip-hop star has always been very open about his smoking habits and has even ventured into numerous businesses, including weed strains and edibles. So, it’s no surprise fans who lead similar habits are questioning their own lifestyle and may be thinking of a change.”
