We Can Never Forget These 2 High-Stakes Anime
Anime has always been a relatively popular form of entertainment, and this is only becoming more so the case as time goes on. There are a few different reasons for this, but the fact is that thanks to the animated medium, the means by which a story can be told, and the limitations of that story, become relatively infinite. As such, this is an art form that keeps on giving, with popular titles getting released all the time and classic series constantly getting homage made to them. This article is going to focus on some of those classic series that the world of anime will simply never be able to forget.
Gyakkyou Burai Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor
This series has quite a long history behind it, with an intricate plot meaning its adaptation and eventual close meant there was a lot of time needed for it. It first appeared as a manga back in 1996 before the franchise was picked up by Madhouse and adapted into a series. It received a pretty good reception and as such, another series was created and finally a movie was brought out bringing everything to a close back in January 2020. So, why did its conclusion take so long? The answer, as previously mentioned, lies in how intricate the plot is.
The series centers around gambling and the casino. When you consider the above reasons as to why anime is popular, it’s surprising that more titles don’t surround the casino lifestyle as the two run relatively parallel to one another. Thanks to the embracement of digital gambling and the development of sites such as spincasino.com, it means that there is creative freedom permitted by game developers when making titles.
In Kaiji, our protagonist finds himself down on his luck and in a large amount of debt. He has to work to get out of it and as such, joins an illicit underground gambling ring on a cruise ship. As such, there is a lot of gambling involved in this series which is one of the reasons the series took so long to complete. The cool design, intricate storytelling and commitment to the plot mean that this is an anime people should never forget.
Dragon Ball Z
When it comes to paying legendary anime respect, the legacy and impact that they have had needs to be taken into account and no anime has had an impact in that sense like Dragon Ball Z. This was a gateway show for so many fans, thanks to the array of characters, exciting fight scenes and cool color schemes.
It’s not exactly a deep series, and it certainly doesn’t explore intricate story like Kaiji does, but it’s a lot of fun and a show that is still enjoyed today. It’s a favorite for so many and a must-watch for anyone who is remotely involved in the world of anime, so if you would like to get into it a bit more, then there is no series better to sink your teeth into.
