FiRSTWORLD navigates its version of 2016 and complicates life as we know it

If you like politics and comics, then you will love this satirical twist! If you’ve ever wondered why or how the world has gone crazy, then let us be the first to welcome you to FiRSTWORLD. FiRSTWORLD is a land where nothing makes sense, feelings trump facts, men are women, children are sterilized, politics have converged with every aspect of society, and bugs are for dinner. Unfortunately, the longer you stay, the less it makes sense, so we’ve created a parody to cope. Welcome to FiRSTWORLD, and enjoy your stay. (Don’t drink the water!)

We open the doors to FiRSTWORLD with the murder of Harambe the gorilla, which opens a dimensional rift and results in a parallel timeline breaking off, this is known in FiRSTWORLD as the “Harambe Effect.” In this alternate timeline, three-letter agencies are overthrowing the will of the people, zealots silence nonbelievers, poison is pumped into every household, and a handful of evil corporations control everything. Some citizens of FiRSTWORLD remember the world before the death of Harambe, while others don’t – which leads them to question if the “normal” world of their memories ever existed.

MEET THE TEAM

Doc Bishop is our fearless FiRSTWORLD leader and has been a comic book collector since he was a kid. In fact, he loves comics and superheroes so much that he created his business branding around the concept.

Lisa Beavers is our production designer and part of the creative process. She’s been designing publications for over 30 years, including magazines such as TravelHost, and she’s even won a couple of awards for her work.

Amy Good is the writer for the project. She has two undergraduate degrees in visual art and over a decade of experience working as an illustrator. Since 2010 Amy has worked in the indie film, video game, and publishing spaces in various roles.

Antoine Blackman is one of our illustrators. After a stint in the military and working as a civil servant, he turned his art hobby into a career as a freelance illustrator, writer, and instructor.

Osiris Santos Jr. is our other professional illustrator from Brazilian, living in Sao Paulo City. Osiris has been working with advertising agencies in Sao Paulo, making jaw-dropping illustrations and creating layouts for clients, but in the last year, he’s been working as a penciler for comic books.
