Part story, part game, this is Interactive Fiction where YOU become the hero!
Branching Narrative has today released its debut title, Deathtrap Dungeon: The Interactive Video Adventure, its new take on the classic Fighting Fantasy gamebook by Ian Livingstone now available on PC and Mac.

Deathtrap Dungeon: The Interactive Video Adventure showcases the company“s new Interactive Fiction engine and stars British actor Eddie Marsan (Ray Donovan, The Gentlemen, Deadpool 2), who acts as narrator and guide in this high-quality interactive video production that faithfully recreates the beloved fantasy book.

Deathtrap Dungeon, arguably the most popular book in the Fighting Fantasy series, was originally released in 1984 and challenges the player to survive the Trial of Champions that takes place in the labyrinth of Fang, full of fiendish traps and deadly creatures set by the devious Baron Sukumvit.

Matt Spall, Branching Narrative, said:

“We“re excited to finally release our innovative take on this beloved Fighting Fantasy classic. Collaborating with Eddie Marsan and Ian Livingstone has been a pleasure and we look forward to welcoming a whole new generation eager to take on Baron Sukumvit“s deadly challenge.”“

Branching Narrative“s Deathtrap Dungeon: The Interactive Video Adventure is delivered as a high quality video stream with Eddie Marsan prompting the player to make choices and direct the flow, offering enhanced gameplay over other recent high-profile ”˜interactive movie“ offerings, fully utilising the mechanics from the classic Fighting Fantasy book.

Deathtrap Dungeon: The Interactive Video Adventure is out now on PC and Mac for £7.99 / $9.99 / €8.99, with mobile and other formats to follow later this year.
