Review: Call of Duty Mobile

Today, for a change, I will review about other stuff I love: Video Games, a Christmas of 1990 Santa gave me an N.E.S. And there it all began and I have had the fortune to see and enjoy the evolution of the Videogames industry and it is something beautiful besides the things that are still to come, and one of the genres that I like is Shooter, but you know, sadly there is a time when you have to be absorbed by the system just like a real world Sims game within The Matrix and you have obligations and the time to enjoy the good things in life is drastically reduced.

Fortunately there is always time to take a Joystick and relive old adventures or in this case your mobile phone and enjoy a good game with COD as in the old days. Really the appearance of COD Mobile is a real revolution and I think it will mark a before and after, I know, the concept is old but taking it to the Mobile Apps is another level, but what really impress me is that there is no lag! There are no cheats! It is a confrontation of all against all just like the old laws and Gods demand.

Maybe my emotion can’t be understood by many, but COD really changes the rules of Mobile games, because although there are already Shooters in the App Market there were no real-time Shooters and the most impressive are its features: Daily events, Exclusive events (now it is the Zombies event), Two modes: Battle Royale and Multiplayer where can win weapons to improve your arsenal which affect your character since you can be the heavy infantry or be the silent sniper, also the selection of the weapon affects, because running with a heavy machine gun it’s not the same as running with an SMG, you also get ranks and other elements such as credits, Skins for your soldiers and the possibility of winning Skins of the classic characters of other games of the COD games something that fans will surely love.

About the gameplay, it is another element that has impressed me pleasantly, but we must highlight something, recently Gameloop made public an official emulator that you can download HERE to enjoy COD Mobile (in addition to your favorite mobile games) in your PC or Notebook, something which definitely broke down that wall that exists between the mobile platform and PC and I will explain this in two sections:

The gameplay on the phone: I must admit the first time I played COD Mobile I almost reached the point to uninstalling it, because (as a negative point) the game has too many features that really confusing and we boomers overwhelm us, but some of my friends played the game and there my interest was reborn, already on the battlefield the controls are the basics of each mobile Shooter game, “virtual” joystick to move the left side and aim with the right side it also has the option to set-up the aim in manual and automatic shoot as soon as the target is in front which for the Mobile version is the most advisable, because itÂ´s somewhat difficult to aim and then shoot with the same finger since you lose seconds there, another goodness is that it is available different forms of tactical support with various devices, you can choose either a machine gun tower, aerial support with Drones, combat choppers and a wonderful aircraft that fires Vulcano’s bursts that will give headaches to rivals and these props are configurable as you level up, reloading is automatic if the ammunition runs out, there are badges that help you define a profile and improve the soldier, for example there are some “invisibility” badges to some types of detection weapons, there are other that silence your steps, there is another that allows you to take ammunition from fallen enemies, there are also physical Joystick for phones you can buy in any mobile store that maybe can improve the gaming experience.

The gameplay on the PC: With the Gameloop emulator all the rules changed, the beautiful thing is that it is the same platform, you simply install the same App you have on your mobile, so you can continue perfectly the same game where you left on your cell phone, the controls are fortunately the same as the COD PC version, WASD to move (no, there is no joystick integration until now), Ctrl to jump, Mouse to aim and Right Clck to Shoot, with the wheel mouse you change weapons easily in addition to others configuration of the franchise, but this can be set-up in the emulator, by the way the graphics on PC improves greatly (of course if you have a decent graphics card) the textures on the maps and the details of the characters are shown in high definition, you can also take snapshots and record those final kills to presume to your friends.

Now the cons of the game, the amount of features makes you felt confuse (there is many that I don’t have any idea what are they for) the other thing I have against it is the emulator which leaves Mobile players at a clear disadvantage, an expert player of COD on PC has more advantage over a mobile one in a Multiplayer campaign and this can be a torture for players who had more than 30 deaths before the appearance of the emulator, the speed of the characters is drastically affected because there is a huge difference between a mobile 4G network against a 400 mb broadband Internet, sometimes some bugs appears in the Emulator that make the game freezes at times, but this is something just being born and I think it has a lot of potential so many improvements will surely have to come.

Hoy para variar harÃ© un review de otras de las cosas que amo: Los Videojuegos, una navidad de 1.990 me regalaron un N.E.S. Y allÃ empezÃ³ todo y he tenido la fortuna de vivir la evoluciÃ³n de la industria de los Videojuegos y es algo hermoso ademÃ¡s de las cosas que aÃºn faltan por venir, entre los gÃ©neros que me gustan estÃ¡ el de los shooters, pero ya saben, irremediablemente llega la hora en que tienes que ser absorbido por el sistema donde al igual que en un juego de los Sims tienes obligaciones y el tiempo para disfrutar de las cosas buenas de la vida se reduce drÃ¡sticamente.

Afortunadamente siempre hay tiempo para tomar un Joystick y revivir viejas aventuras o en este caso tu telÃ©fono mÃ³vil y disfrutar de una buena partida con COD como en los viejos tiempos, realmente la apariciÃ³n de COD Mobile es una verdadera revoluciÃ³n y creo que marcarÃ¡ un antes y un despuÃ©s, si lo se, el concepto es viejo pero llevarlo al terreno de los celulares es otro nivel, pero lo impresionante de todo es que Â¡No hay lag! Â¡No hay cheats! Es un enfrentamiento de todos contra todos como lo demandan las antiguas leyes y Dioses.

Mi impresiÃ³n y emociÃ³n no las comprenderan muchos pero es que realmente COD cambia las reglas de los juegos Mobile, porque si bien ya existen Shooters en Mobile no existÃan Shooters de tiempo real y lo mÃ¡s impresionante son sus caracteristicas: Eventos diarios, Eventos exclusivos (ahora estÃ¡ el evento de Zombies), Dos modos: Battle Royale y Multiplayer donde irÃ¡s ganando armas las cuales afectan a tu personaje ya que puedes ser el heavy infantry o ser el discreto sniper, tambien la selecciÃ³n del arma afecta ya que correr con un heavy machine gun no es lo mismo que correr con una SMG, ademÃ¡s obtienes rangos y otros elementos como crÃ©ditos, Skins para tus soldados y la posibilidad de ganar Skins de los personajes clÃ¡sicos de otros juegos de las franquicias COD algo que los fanÃ¡ticos seguramente amarÃ¡n.

Sobre la jugabilidad, es otro elemento que me ha impresionado gratamente, pero hay que resaltar algo, recientemente Gameloop desarrollÃ³ un Emulador oficial que puedes descargar ACÃ para disfrutar de COD (ademÃ¡s de tus juegos mobiles favoritos) lo cual definitivamente derriba ese muro que existÃa entre la plataforma Mobile y PC, claro, es algo que apenas saliÃ³ recientemente y hablarÃ© de ello mÃ¡s adelante y es por esto que dividirÃ© esto en dos secciones:

La jugabilidad en el telÃ©fono: La primera vez debo decir que lo juguÃ© y durÃ© una semana sin jugarlo casi al extremo de desinstalarlo, ya que como punto negativo el juego tiene demasiadas caracterÃsticas que realmente te confunden y a los boomers nos abruman, pero mis amigos se animaron a instalarlo y jugarlo y allÃ mi interÃ©s renaciÃ³, ya en el campo de batalla los controles son los bÃ¡sicos de cada juego Shooter en celular, Joystick “virtual” para moverte del lado izquierdo y apuntar con el lado derecho, tiene la opciÃ³n ademÃ¡s de apuntar manual y disparar o disparar apenas el objetivo estÃ© enfrente (automÃ¡tico) lo cual para la versiÃ³n de Mobile es lo mÃ¡s recomendable ya que es algo difÃcil apuntar y luego disparar con el mismo dedo ya que pierdes segundos allÃ, otra bondad es que dispones de diferentes formas de apoyo ya que con cada kills vas activando diferentes artefactos de apoyo tÃ¡ctico desde una torreta ametralladora hasta apoyo aÃ©reo con Drones, HelicÃ³pteros de combate y un maravilloso aviÃ³n que dispara rÃ¡fagas de vulcano que darÃ¡ dolores de cabeza a los rivales y estos apoyos son configurables a medida que subas de nivel, la recarga es automÃ¡tica si se te acaban las municiones, hay badges que te ayudan a definir un perfil y mejoran al soldado, por ejemplo hay algunos de “invisibilidad” ante algunos tipos de armas de detecciÃ³n, hay otros badges que silencian tus pasos, hay otro que te permite tomar municiones de los enemigos caÃdos, en el mercado tambien existen Joystick para celulares que quizÃ¡s puedan mejorar en algo la experiencia de juego.

La jugabilidad en el PC: Con el Emulador de Gameloop ya las reglas cambiaron, lo hermoso de todo es que es la misma plataforma, simplemente instalas la misma APP que tienes en el Mobil, por tanto puedes continuar perfectamente el mismo juego donde lo dejaste en tu celular, los controles afortunadamente son los mismos que en el PC, WASD para moverte (no, no hay Joystick mes amÃs), Ctrl para saltar mouse para apuntar y disparar, con el wheel del mouse cambias de arma fÃ¡cilmente ademÃ¡s de los controles propios de la franquicia, por cierto los grÃ¡ficos en PC mejoran de gran forma (claro si tienes una tarjeta grÃ¡fica decente) ya que las texturas en los mapas y los detalles de los personajes son en calidad alta, puedes ademÃ¡s tomar snapshots y grabar esos kills finales para presumir a tus amigos.

Ahora los contras del juego, la cantidad de caracteristicas que tiene te llegan a confundir e incluso muchas no sabes para que sirven, la otra cosa que tengo en contra es la apariciÃ³n del Emulador ya deja a los jugadores de Mobile en clara desventaja, un jugador experto de COD en PC tiene mÃ¡s ventaja sobre uno Mobile por tanto una partida Multijugador puede ser una tortura para jugadores que hacÃan mÃ¡s de 30 kills antes de apariciÃ³n del emulador ya que elementos como la velocidad de los personajes se nota porque literalmente vuelan hay que considerar que una red mobile 4G contra un internet de banda ancha de 400 mb marcan una GRAN diferencia, si a eso sumamos la diferencia de los gameplays claramente los de PC llevan las de ganar, tambien ocurre que al pasar de PC a Mobile ya no es la misma sensaciÃ³n, otra cosa es que hay ciertos bugs en el Emulador que hacen que el juego se cuelgue en ocasiones pero esto apenas estÃ¡ naciendo y creo que tiene mucho potencial asÃ que muchas mejoras habrÃ¡n seguramente por venir.
