Introducing Outer Marker Records – No Artistic Boundaries, No Sonic Compromises

Outer Marker is a new record label with a very simple goal: work with great artists to record great music and deliver it in the absolute highest fidelity possible.
Founded by engineer/producer Doug Fearn and musicians/producers/engineers George and Geoff Hazelrigg, Outer Marker completes an all-embracing audio ecosystem designed to capture and deliver music that embodies both artistic and sonic excellence, eschewing the constraints of genres and playlists. This feedback loop began with their experience in the studio and on stage as engineers, producers and performers and eventually led to the design and manufacture of handcrafted recording equipment. These products, released under the banners of D.W. Fearn and Hazelrigg Industries, are now considered to be essential equipment in many of today’s top recording studios.
The only missing piece was the recording and distribution of new and exciting music. Enter Outer Marker.
Living in the spaces between the rigidly defined categories that many other labels adhere to, Outer Marker is dedicated to spotlighting new artists and works that may not align with typical convention. “We are taking an aggressively genre-agnostic approach to our catalog,” said Eric Larsen, CEO of Outer Marker. “We want people to come to Outer Marker to explore and discover. The only consistent theme to our releases will be excellence – in any style.”
In keeping with their dedication to superlative sonics, Outer Marker releases will be available as DSD128 files through an agreement with Native DSD as well as on 180 gram audiophile quality vinyl and CD. Announcements of upcoming releases will follow soon.
