COASTCITY, the Puerto Rican artist/production duo which pioneered the Latin R&B subgenre “Caribbean Soul” has had a pivotal year, with two Grammy nominations and a collaboration with Luis Fonsi on the single “Pa La Calle”. Formed by Jean Rodriguez (lead vocals and producer) and Danny Flores (producer and keys), the duo has notably produced and collaborated with heavy-hitters such as Beyoncé, J Balvin, Anitta, Nicky Jam, Residente, Ricky Martin, Lele Pons, Karol G, Prince Royce, and CNCO to name a few.

Shining a spotlight on “what’s next” in Latin music, The Plug is proud to welcome rising Latin artist, Sergio JR in his debut solo show since his departure from the boyband, IN REAL LIFE (Hollywood Records/ABC Television). Co-managed by the esteemed Orlando-based music manager, Johnny Wright who is responsible for launching the careers of pop music’s biggest global acts such as NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, Jonas Brothers, Justin Timberlake and more, Sergio JR announced his Latin music solo project in early 2020 with the release of his debut single, “No Es Fácil” which debuted in the top 20 on iTunes and earned him national and international press notoriety.

“I’m happy to work closely with The Plug’s initiative to bring back the industry and create new opportunities for music culture in the city. Myself along with my team at Wright Entertainment Group have been working with Sergio JR since his musical career began with the band, In Real Life. As he embarked as a solo artist, we knew his debut performance had to be a special one and what better way than in our own pop music capital- Orlando.”, explains Johnny Wright.

In a fitting ode to Orlando’s iconic role in pop music & culture, the show will be hosted by singer/actor, Erik-Michael Estrada of the multi platinum pop group, O-Town. The 00’s teen boyband was formed on the first ever season of the reality competition show, “Making The Band” filmed in Orlando in 2000.

The evening will also feature an exclusive pop-up of Fat One’s food truck stationed outside of the venue. Known for their New York style hotdogs and italian ice, Fat One’s is famously owned by singer/actor, Joey Fatone of the iconic 90s Orlando boy band, NSYNC.

The Plug is an initiative started by longtime entertainment industry veterans Helen Bromfield and Jeannette Conrado, both Central Florida natives who kickstarted their careers in Orlando’s music and entertainment scenes before eventually moving to Los Angeles respectively. Bromfield is a talent manager and marketing executive with over 20 years of experience developing and working with global brands and high-profile music acts such as AJ McLean, IN REAL LIFE, AGNEZ Mo and Backstreet Boys. Bromfield co-manages Sergio JR with Johnny Wright and Conrado. Conrado, a UCF alum who began her career in artist management working for Wright Entertainment under the mentorship of Wright, went on to become one of the top music publicists in the Latin industry as recently recognized by Billboard Magazine, having worked with artists such as Daddy Yankee, Maluma, Carlos Vives, Major Lazer. When both women returned to Orlando following the pandemic, they saw an opportunity to collaborate and reignite the global music and pop culture presence that once dominated the city and influenced their careers. “COVID dramatically changed the landscape of the music and entertainment industries, driving out a lot of opportunity from cities like Los Angeles and New York which are typically the meccas. As the industry begins to bounce back, our aim is to help drive some of that business, talent and music magic back to Orlando”, explains Bromfield.

The Plug Concert Series featuring COASTCITY w/ Sergio JR is presented by JNETPR in partnership with Wright Entertainment Group, A-Game and Soundbar. For more information and to reserve your free tickets visit, www.ThePlugOrl.com.
