McFarlane Toys Cyberpunk 2077 Johnny Silverhand Action Figure Review

McFarlane Toys Cyberpunk 2077 Johnny Silverhand Action Figure Review

Once again the Toyverse gets to rock out, and today we get to rock out in great style with the McFarlane Toys Cyberpunk 2077 Johnny Silverhand Action Figure. Once again I want to express a big thank you to McFarlane Toys for begin kind enough to send this our way. Now previously, we looked at the 12 inch version of the punk rocker, so let’s travel to the future, grab a guitar pick, and raise the devil horns as we look at Johnny Silverhand.

Appearance:

As I just stated, previously I examined the 12 inch version of this guy, and that collectible had some amazing detail on it. I am happy to report that the seven inch version really doesn’t lose that McFarlane touch. The glasses look great! The see through ruby red lens look just as sharp as they did

on the previous version. The hair from the face and head all are sharp and clean, and the likeness is pretty spot on. The tattoos are are clean and cover the arms and hand in great detail. Now keep in mind this figure is less than 20 bucks, and what I have just described is impressive. The cyber arm has a great sculpt and paint to it also.  I love the look that this guy has, and the arm plays a big role in that. The vest looks wonderful, and has some nice decals and dog tags sculpted on it. Another cool thing I noticed is the black undershirt that is sculpted and painted underneath the vest. The brown pants still look amazing, and the shoes just add to the overall look of the character.

Articulation:

Now in terms of articulation, this version of Johnny hits the high note and rocks out in the best way possible. Unlike his counterpart(and to be fair that figure wasn’t designed to super articulated,) this version of Mr. Silverhand can move to the beat. His head can look up and down, and side to side with no issue. One of the coolest features of this guy and a design that McFarlane does really well, is the upper body articulation. Now traditionally, the figure  would have several cuts on the body to achieve the articulation. McFarlane Toys is very proud of the hard work they do sculpt wise, and instead of losing the sculpt to articulation, they have innovated a new way to get the figure to move. By creating an internal skeleton and having  sculpted pieces over that skeleton, you get the best of both worlds. A figure that works great, and looks great as well.

That body can turn, go side to side, and move up and down.  In terms of the arms on the figure, you have a very nice butterfly joint at the shoulders. The arms on either side can go up and down, all the way around, and in and out. He has a bicep cut at the arms and double jointed elbows. He also features a ball hinge at the hand that rotates, and goes up and down. Now as far as the lower body goes, the legs can go forwards and backwards. He can do the splits, and has a small amount of movement that allows for a thigh swivel. He also has double jointed knees that work extremely well. The feet are on a ball hinge and can rock side to side, and move up and back a bit. The feet also feature a really great toe joint that adds to the movement. Overall, I think a person would find much to complain about in terms of articulation. I love what McFarlane is doing, and very happy with the range of movement.

Accessories:

Now in terms of bonus items, Johnny Silverhand comes packed in with quite a bit of fun pieces. First let’s talk about the guitar. It has a beautiful amount of detail on it. From the shape to the strings, all look good. The decals on the guitar work great and create a rocker feel. The guitar also has a strap that connects to the guitar. This has a nice deco to it that just adds to the overall design of the guitar. The next item is the devil horns silver hand. This hand contains the same amount of detail found on the regular version of the silver hand. What i love about the hand is the fact that we get to have Johnny rock out. It’s a very cool addition to figure. Our next accessory is a red bottle. It had a nice look to it, and has a red liquid paint job inside of it. The last accessory is a display stand for the figure. It features a peg that the foot plugs into, and a CyberPunk 2077 logo on it.

Final Thoughts:

So how does this figure stack up? Overall I have to say fantastic. For an action figure I know nothing about, he is cool. I can’t explain why, but he is great. McFarlane Toys continues to impress. I have to say for an IP that has not been released yet, the figure is exciting to have in hand. Regardless if the guy is on your shelf or taking pictures on a Sunday night, the fun factor is there. The collectible factor is there also. So give him a chance, he could rock your heart out if you let him. Enjoy the pictures, and check out the stop motion fun I had on Instagram if you feel up to it.
