McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse The Last Knight on Earth Build A Bane Omega Figure Review
Today in the Toyverse, we travel deep into the DC Multiverse and examine the Omega figure from McFarlane Toys. This figure is one in four who is part of the Build-A-Bane figure that is inspired by the DC Black Label Last Knight on Earth story from DC Comic’s mature imprint. And of course Omega is part of that storyline in a huge way. Before we dive in and examine this figure a bit more, on behalf of the Comic Crusaders team, we want to thank McFarlane Toys for sending this over.
Who is the mysterious Omega? What does he look like under the mask? Is he a Scorpio? Or is he a survivor of the mysterious Captain Trips virus? All these questions have been sitting in a mayonnaise jar outside waiting to be answered, but I am not the one to spoilt he fun for you, go buy a comic book and discover yourself. As far as the figure is concerned, he really does look like he jump right off the pages of Scott Snyder’s and Greg Capullo’s vision in plastic form.
The McFarlane team have taken that artwork and translated it very well. The smooth texture on the legs, mixed in with the intricate Omega beam style body lines is quite impressive. The raised bat logo looks great, and the head has an animated style that is eye catching, yet mysterious. The small cape that hangs behind Omega is made of a soft material, and looks tremendous on the figure.
In terms of movement, Omega can get down on the dance floor pretty darn good. His head moves around in pretty any direction. You want it to go up? Done! Side to Side? Done! Down? Yup! Really dig the head articulation. The upper body can mambo back quite a bit, and lean forward enough. The side to side and turning is standard McFarlane articulation, and does cause any problems. Those wonderful arms got great movement. Up and down, in and out, double jointed elbows, and of course ball hinges at the wrist.
The legs overall move good. Due to the crotch area being sculpted in harder plastic than a lot of other McFarlane figures, it does hinder it a little, but the legs can still kick the face of your opinion any day of the week. Of course you get double jointed knees, and ball hinges at the feet with rocking motion. And I would be a jerk if I didn’t mention the mighty toe hinge.
As for accessories, Omega is no slouch. You get the cool collectible card, display stand, an extra pair of hands, and the two legs to build the massive monster Bane. I always dig the card and look forward to adding it to the collection. The hands are a nice touch, and the base is always appreciated. And of course the huge Bane legs. I am beyond stoked to talk about him once I finish building him.
Overall, you would be a fool to pass on Omega. He looks cool, comes with Banes legs, and can destroy you if you don’t eat your meat. All joking aside, I am really impressed with this figure. Don’t pass him up, he is cool in any DC fan display.
