MEET LEGENDARY COMIC CREATORS, ANIME VOICE ACTORS AND MORE AT FAN EXPO BOSTON 2023
Events include autographs, photos, sketches, portfolio reviews, panels, meet and greets and the Maid Cafe
FAN EXPO Boston, the three-day pop culture extravaganza, will feature legendary comic creators, anime voice actors, the Maid Café Mikkusu and more at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC) August 4-6, 2023. Comic fans can look forward to heroic a time with more than 70 incredible Comic Creators from some of their favorite franchises, and get the chance to meet comic artists and watch them go “pen to pen” in the epic “Sketch Duels” competition.
Featured comic creators include Rafael Grampa, Ed McGuinness, Simon Bisley, Frank Cho, Gerry Duggan, Ariel Olivetti, Bjorn Barends, Kami Garcia and David Lopez. A full list of comic book creators that will be in attendance can be found here.
Anime fans can meet their favorite anime voice actors who will be on hand to sign autographs and pose for photos. Attendees can also experience an actual Akihabara-style Maid Café presentation like the ones in Japan.
Special event opportunities for fans to engage directly with top comic creators include:
- Meet Legendary Comic Creators: Comics Legends, Professional Comic Book artists, and writers will be at Fan Expo Boston all weekend. Be sure to drop by the Artist Alley to meet them and see their amazing work.
- Sketch Duels: Check out your favorite comic artists as they go “pen to pen” in this epic competition. Plus, fans can enter to win the original art they produce once they’re done. This is an amazing experience to witness as these friendly competitions reveal who’s got the edge in comic book illustration.
- Creator Spotlights: Some of the world’s biggest comic book creators will be featured this year, with panels of their own. Attendees can ask questions and hear the perspectives of those who shape the industry.
- Sketches, Lithographs, and Limited Art Prints: Many Artist Alley creators will have original art, lithographs, limited edition art prints, and original sketches available. Some also take commissions from fans.
- Artist Alley: This special area is where you will find all your favorite pencillers, inkers and writers. This is a must do experience area for anyone interested in meeting rising stars and those who work the front lines of the industry.
Other Events Include:
- The Maid Café: Visit the Maid Café where you will experience an actual Akihabara-style maid cafe presentation similar to the ones in Japan. Tickets for this all-ages event includes choice of coffee or tea, a Maid Café Mikkusu decal, a kawaii meet and greet with the maids, a short stage performance, games, and other immersive elements.
