Mezco Toyz Captain Nemo 20000 Leagues Under The Sea Figure Review

Let’s take a journey deep beneath the ocean and talk about one of Mezco Toyz latest releases. Up on the chopping block today is the Captain Nemo figure from Mezco. This thing has an original design that screams Mezco, but yet still captures your heart and mind. Something about this figure makes it a great presence on the shelf or as a photo. The figure has a steampunk feel to it yet feels classic. I have no idea if Jules Verne had this design of his famous fictional sea captain in mind, but it came out great. The details on the costume are very intricate given the 1/12 scale he fits into. The head sculpts are impressive and imposing, yet what you would imagine this bearded captain to look like. The costume has a nice texture and color to it.

The packaging on this thing is crazy. The lunchbox designs are always fun and cool, and this tin doesn’t disappoint. I would be mindful of scratches based on my own history, so make sure you store in a nice safe place. As for the accessories, Nemo has a ton of fun items to mess around with. From a cool poncho to multiple hands, a fish jaw with Nemo hand trophy, and multiple weapons to name a few. You are going to find a ton of fun ways to display the figure and pray to God you don’t loose everything. You get a cool bonus mini mag that has some additional items that went up for pre-order already, along with a miniature Nautilus ship you can display as trophy. All of it is pretty cool.

Overall Nemo is as cool as he looks. he articulates pretty good. I would say be careful posing him as I have seen several people report stiches falling out and tearing. My only complaint with his articulation for me has been head movement. The hair sculpt kind of limits the turning, but other than that I still dig the figure.  If you want the figure, make sure your wallet is good friends with the secondary market, as it is now the only place to get it.
