Mobile Game REVIEW: Tweet Star

Who would of guessed that Twitter could have an key role in a mobile game; But that is exactly what Simple Machine has done. They created what I believe to be the most unique puzzle game on the planet, and they did it using Tweets. The concept is simple; You’re given a topic, with real tweets that have been scrambled and you have to put them back together to solve the puzzle. With a platform that has approximately 500 million tweets sent out a day, there is a plethora of source material.

The graphics are very clean, easy on the eyes, and the game itself is pretty easy to pick up. There is a learning curve with how to place the pieces as sometimes they don’t want to necessarily cooperate with your finger but it is so minor that I can’t really hold it against anyone. The game does support ads, so keep that in mind that when you finish a category or want more categories it will involve watching videos, which in this mobile age, that’s going to be expected.

You don’t have to have a twitter account to play the game, however if you want to play online in a multiplayer setting, that does require you to connect your twitter account too. The game is a great concept. The one thing I realized is that the challenging puzzles are the ones that the people that had a moment where they may have forgotten a few lessons from english class, but that’s what makes the game fun.
