MORE ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR PORTSMOUTH COMIC CON – INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF COMICS

With less than two months to go to one of the most talked about Comic Cons in the UK this year, Portsmouth Comic Con is delighted to announce even more names to be added to its impressive Artists Alley line-up sponsored by Catawiki.

By popular demand, the Con welcomes the return of some its most engaging guests from the last two years including Russell Walks, Sean Phillips, Rob Williams and Laurence Campbell to join previously announced guests, Brian Froud, Adam Hughes, P.Craig Russell, Troy Alders, Janet K Lee, Marguerite Sauvage, June Brigman, Roy Richardson, Rick Leonardi, Kieran Belshaw, David Michelinie, Katie Schenkel, The Etherington Brothers, Gary Erskine, Stuart Moore, Nigel Parkinson, Martin Simmonds and Paul Fry!

Russell Walks is an official Star Wars artist. Adept at both traditional and digital illustration and design, he has created art based on licensed properties for clients including Paramount, 20th Century Fox, Random House and many others.

Eisner Award Winner, Sean Phillips, has drawn comics professionally since the age of 15 and worked for all the major publishers. Since drawing Sleeper, Hellblazer, Batman, XMen, Marvel Zombies, and Stephen King“s ”˜The Dark Tower“, Sean has concentrated on creator-owned books including Criminal, Kill or be Killed, Incognito, Fatale and The Fade Out. He is currently drawing a new original graphic novel Pulp written by his long-time collaborator, Ed Brubaker and coloured by his son, Jacob Phillips.Rob Williams is the writer of Judge Dredd for 2000AD and has written the pilot script for the forthcoming Mega-City One TV show. Over his career he has written Suicide Squad, Action Comics, Justice League for DC and Amazing Spider-Man, The Punisher and Wolverine for Marvel. He is currently writing the modern revamp of Roy of the Rovers for Rebellion. His new creator-owned book, Old Haunts, is released through AWA Studios.

Laurence Campbell is a British comic artist, based in Whitstable. His first job was working on Caliber“s ”˜Negative Burn“ anthology but it was his work at 2000AD on strips like Breathing Space and Judge Dredd with Rob Williams, John Wagner and Si Spurrier that got him noticed. He later moved on to Marvel, working on books like Punisher, Wolverine and Moon Knight.

Portsmouth Comic Con ”“ International Festival of Comics, in partnership with Tripwire Magazine and Go Geek Events CIC, returns to Portsmouth“s iconic Guildhall on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd May 2020 featuring incisive panels, exhibitions, displays, workshops, merch, cosplay and interactive fun in the form of VR, robots and gaming and more with a ”˜Celebration of Female Superheroes“ (Saturday) and ”˜A World of Witchcraft and Wizardry“ (Sunday).

Plus guests of the screen including Brian Wheeler (Star Wars and Harry Potter), Pam Rose (Star Wars, Superman and Batman), David Bulbeck (Labyrinth and Who Framed Roger Rabbit) and FX Artist Gary Pollard who has worked on Red Dwarf and Harry Potter and Madeline Smith (James Bond: Live and Let Die).
