Puerto Rico Comic Con debuts innovative format to continue giving fans their geek fix!

Born from the health crisis, PRCC SESSIONS brings the con experience to the home

San Juan, Puerto Rico ”“ As the COVID-19 (coronavirus) crisis continues to change how people work and play, the production team behind Puerto Rico Comic Con ”“ the largest and most important event in the Caribbean region ”“ announced the launch of PRCC SESSIONS, a new entertainment format aimed at giving fans a pop culture con experience from the convenience and safety of their home.

Ideated as a result of the impact of the global pandemic, which caused the postponement of Puerto Rico Comic Con from May 2020 to May 2021, PRCC SESSIONS is a series of online events in which local and international entertainment industry professionals ”“ including influencers, illustrators, writers, artists, designers, programmers, actors and others ”“ engage with their fans, holding virtual conferences, workshops, Q&A sessions and more.

“The pandemic may have forced us to change the date of the event, but it has not quashed our commitment to our fans. Puerto Rico Comic Con has always been a forum that encourages the exchange of ideas, foments content creation, and gives people access to a diverse and inclusive world of entertainment. With PRCC SESSIONS we will continue to engage with fans as well as showcase the talents of our local and international creators,”“ said Ricardo Carrion, executive producer of Puerto Rico Comic Con and PRCC SESSIONS.

As a 100% online endeavor, PRCC SESSIONS complies with current social distancing measures to help flatten the curve of pandemic“s spread.

PRCC SESSIONS is set to debut the weekend of May 23 (the original date of Puerto Rico Comic Con 2020) on Puerto Rico Comic Con“s Facebook page. Subsequent sessions will air every month on a variety of social media outlets, so fans are encouraged to follow Puerto Rico Comic Con for updates.

Since 2002, Puerto Rico Comic Con has stood out as the main and most important entertainment event in the region. The show is held from May 17 to 19 at the Puerto Rico Convention Center in San Juan.
