Rakuten Viki Offers Popular Web-based Comic Title “Duty After School” Free to Streamers on 5/6

As comic book fans gear up for Free Comic Book Day on May 6, Rakuten Viki, the largest streaming service for Asian content, will be getting in on the action with a few page-turning offerings themselves.
To kick off the day, Rakuten Viki will bring their popular web-based comic title Duty After School above their paywall so that everyone can enjoy. In this drama series, the students and teachers at Sungjin High School receive a terrifying shock when they witness the start of an alien invasion. They must learn how to shoot rifles, fight hand-to-hand, and navigate obstacle courses…in their school uniform! Will the high schoolers help save the planet from doom? The series will be offered free to streamers from May 6 to May 7.
For manga readers, anime enthusiasts, and overall comic fanatics who are looking to celebrate even further, audiences will be glued to the screen for these dramatized versions of some of the biggest Asian comics included in Rakuten Viki’s “Based on Comics” and “Based on Webtoons” collections on the streaming platform, available now. From Boys Over Flowers based on the wildly popular manga series of the same name to Yumi’s Cells, the Korean romantic comedy which follows an ordinary office worker named Yumi, from the point of view of the many brain cells in her head controlling her every thought, feeling, and action. There is something for every comic fan to love!
