REVIEW: DARK SPACES GOOD DEEDS #2

Issue two of Good Deeds starts where issue one left off, a dead body in Rebecca’s diner and a lot of questions. Jean is on her way to gain a better understanding of what just took place but is immediately taken back at the response of Sheriff Gabe to her request for more information. Something just does not make sense. There seems to be some sort of cover up but why?

Cheyenne has been through a lot in a city that is known for its “Southern Charm”. Nothing charming in her experience so far but that is about to change, we think! Pay close attention to the first panel on page four, it will make sense by the time you finish this issue.

Che Grayson continues to write a compelling story. The ability to highlight the main characters in Cheyenne, Rebecca and Jean yet still develop so many other characters is a skillful balance. I walk away from issue two with a concern for Jean and Cheyenne and a desire to know what happens next.

Kelsey Ramsey continues to knock it out of the park with the art. The detail is fantastic and the ability to bring forth so much emotion at the right time is crucial to the story telling. The sense I have is that Che and Kelsey have a great connection with this story. The alignment between them is noticeable and positive.

The colors by Ronda Pattison is equally important to the story, to help bring out the dark nature of what is taking place is key.

This series is a must read if you love mystery/horror stories.
