Review: The Clock #2

Jack Davidson is a scientist whose wife recently died from cancer, or at least he thought so, an anonymous note tells Jack that his wife has been murdered and the note also includes a strange code which is a genetic marker for cancer, the most obvious step is report to the police the death of his wife as a murder, suddenly he realizes that not much can be done since the clinical reports reveal that his wife’s death wasn’t provoked.

Davison convinced of the murder of his wife uses all his knowledge and resources to decipher what is behind the murder of his wife, however his movements will not go unnoticed and a grim organization will try to stop Jack at all costs.

I liked the of conspiracy theories/psychological thriller -esque showed in this comic, based on the possibility of weaponize cancer and its use as a biological weapon, the comic also shows some theories with scientific foundation that although it does not try to confirm this theory at least will give us something to think about.

Very Personal Note:

I understand that an example for the “weaponize cancer” theory has been the death of Hugo Chavez mentioned in the following paragraph “Hugo Chávez claimed the CIA gave him cancer and there are a lot of people who think they did.” I don’t know if Chavez’s cancer was provoked or not and I don’t care, the only thing I question is why mention a person responsible for the death of thousand of Venezuelans because of cancer? Chavez is responsible for stealing a lot of money and resources from the Venezuelan government for his personal profit and his personal circle of collaborators to build great economic empires in a third world country in need of food and medicines, I don’t know the intention of the authors, but I find very offensive the mere fact of naming a dictator as Chávez , I am a Venezuelan in self-exile who has escaped from a fallen country because of Chávez and socialism and I was forced to separate from my family, I hope that whomever reads this paragraph understand that it is not at all well to name such a despicable human being, whatever may be the intention.

Score: No score, it is a pity that a good job be overshadowed with the only mention of who was directly responsible for the misfortune and death of millions of Venezuelans.

Jack Davidson es un científico cuya esposa murió recientemente a causa del cancer, o al menos eso creía él, una nota anónima indica a Jack que su esposa ha sido asesinada y la nota además incluye un extraño código el cual es un marcador genético para el cancer de pulmón, sin embargo al denunciar en la policía el asesinato de su esposa se da cuenta que poco se puede hacer ya que los informes revelan que la muerte de su esposa no fue provocada.

Davison convencido del asesinato de su esposa emplea todo su conocimiento y recursos en descifrar lo que hay detrás de todo el asunto, sin embargo sus movimientos no pasarán desapercibidos y una oscura organización intentará detener a Jack a toda costa.

Me ha gustado el tema de teorias conspirativas/thriller psicológico que muestra este comic, basado en la posibilidad de inocular el cancer y su uso como arma biológica, el comic además muestra algunas teorías con fundamento científico que si bien no intenta comprobar este hecho al menos nos dara algo en que pensar.

Nota personal:

Entiendo que un caso de ejemplo ha sido la muerte de Hugo Chavez mencionado en el siguiente párrafo “Hugo Chávez claimed the CIA gave him cancer are a lot of people who think they did.” no entiendo el porqué citar a una persona responsable de la muerte de miles de Venezolanos por el cancer, responsable por robar recursos del estado Venezolano para su bienestar personal y el de su círculo personal para forjar imperios económicos en un país del tercer mundo necesitado de alimento y medicinas, no se la intención de los autores pero el solo hecho de nombrar a un Dictador como Chávez lo hallo ofensivo, soy un Venezolano en auto exilio que ha escapado de un país caído en desgracia por culpa de Chávez y el socialismo y forzado a estár separado de mi familia, espero que los autores lean este párrafo y comprendan que no está nada bien mencionar a tan despreciable ser sea cual fuera la intención.

Score: No score, lástima que un buen trabajo se empañe por el solo hecho de mencionar al responsable directo de la desgracia de millones de Venezolanos.
