Ryan K. Lindsay pens a new crime noir for Mad Cave Studios
Next year finds an all-new crime series signed, sealed, and delivered from Mad Cave Studios
Buck around and find out!
Announcing DEER EDITOR, the forthcoming Mad Cave Studios series from Aurealis and Ledger Award winning writer Ryan K. Lindsay (NEGATIVE SPACE, ETERNAL) with art by Sami Kivelä (UNDONE BY BLOOD), colors by Lauren Affe, and lettered by Jim Campbell. Much like an antler slowly twists and grows into something with many paths and points, this anthropomorphic noir is enough to make mystery lovers go buck wild.
A John Doe slaying lures a journalist into a world of political intrigue, a wi-fi-enabled grotto, and a station locker full of secrets. For Bucky, an editor of the crime beat at “The Truth,” it’s all in a day’s work… but he also happens to be a deer.
“The cult classic Kickstarter featuring a snarky stag returns with a definitive release showcasing a new format, added Parkeresque tones, updated lettering, and ancillary content,” said mad Cave Senior Editor, Chas! Pangburn. “Like any good editor, Bucky knows the value of the print medium, so I’m proud to help usher his jump from tablet screens to floppy copies. For real, doe—this series is so much fawn!”
Perfect for fans of BLACKSAD and CHINATOWN—don’t be left on the side of the road. DEER EDITOR #1 hits shelves Jan. 10, 2024, and is now available for preorder.
