TARAJI P HENSON TO HOST MARY J BLIGE’S “STRENGTH OF A WOMAN SUMMIT” MOTHER’S DAY WEEKEND IN ATL

Mary J. Blige and Pepsi, in partnership with Live Nation Urban, proudly announce the superstar lineup and conversation series for the “Strength Of A Woman Summit.” Part of the inaugural Strength of A Woman Festival, the summit will take place in Atlanta, GA on May 7th, 2022 with programming surrounding wellness, community empowerment, finance, tech, culinary arts, beauty, music and creative industries. Registration is FREE and goes live April 21st at 10am ET on https://www.universe.com/soawsummit. Tickets and information on the overall festival can be found at www.soawfestival.com.

The Strength of A Woman Festival exists to elevate, educate, and empower women around the world to reach their highest potential. The mission is to mobilize a global convergence of multigenerational women in an authentic environment, “by us for us” while producing an experience fostering community, opportunity, and sisterhood! The Strength Of A Woman Summit is the ultimate destination for bringing this mission to life via engaging workshops and panel discussions led and moderated by female executives, creators, and entrepreneurs. Some of the top industry leaders will come together not only to exchange knowledge and experiences but to recognize and celebrate the greatness we see in each other as women in these industries and of course, share some laughs along the way.

Known for being a hub of collaboration, community, and connection, The Gathering Spot ATL will be the destination for an unforgettable day of free programming from 11AM to 6PM EST. Courtesy of Live Nation Urban, the audience will hear and learn from trailblazing Black women behind the artists and creators we all know and love such as Claudine Joseph, Nicole Jackson, and Tish Taylor. In addition, BET Studios presents “Storytellers”, a panel meant to highlight the challenges and rewards of being a woman working in the Music, TV, and Film industries and where they get their creative inspirations. Beauty conversations will be curated by the Summit Beauty Ambassador Monique Rodriquez, CEO and Founder of Mielle Organics – the fastest-growing Black-owned and women-led global beauty brand. This track will shed light on scaling and growing a beauty brand, the rewards and challenges for holistic- and wellness-based beauty brands, conversations with beauty buyers, and more. To emphasize the importance of putting yourself first and maintaining a healthy lifestyle inside and out; wellness gurus like author and nutritionist, Tracye McQuirter, Bea Dixon, CEO and Founder of The Honey Pot Co., and several others will be joining in Saturday afternoon to talk about all things self-care, reproductive health and the dos and don’ts of cosmetic procedures all while highlighting stand out beauty and wellness brands, products and routine tips that keep them glowing. Presented by Pepsi Dig In, celebrity chefs and culinary disruptors Carla Hall, and Slutty Vegan founder, Pinky Cole, will discuss their journeys to the top of the food industry, and inspire women with stories of how they created their own lanes in the male-dominated culinary world. Summit attendees will also be able to fully immerse themselves in conversations centered around the evolving landscape of the tech field and get insight on how to launch and advance their careers as young professionals in STEM-related fields. In an effort to combat stigmas around the difficulties of managing finances, panelists will be discussing all things budgeting, investing, CryptoCurrency, building capital, and the importance of generational wealth. These discussions will help educate attendees on various strategies to build wealth and how to avoid financial pitfalls that will stop them from achieving their financial goals.

In addition, Pepsi is leveraging its scale and history in music, entertainment, food, and community impact through Pepsi Stronger Together, Pepsi Dig In, and its latest entry in the NFT space to build out a robust schedule of programming throughout the day. Attendees can expect engaging conversations and insights from Black female artists, entrepreneurs, entertainers, restaurateurs, and more. The brand will be sharing more in-depth details on its events and panels in the lead-up to the festival.

The Strength Of A Woman Summit is proud to partner with local, minority, and female-owned businesses and vendors to help cultivate the best experience for attendees. Musical sounds will be curated by DJ Traci Steele. Courtesy of Pepsi Dig In, summit attendees will enjoy a food truck village operated by Black female-owned restaurants.

With access to information and resources being a driving force for the summit, Rotation, the global hip-hop/R&B brand from Amazon Music, will livestream the entire experience for the global community via the Amazon Music channel on Twitch and in the Amazon Music app.
