The Best Cartoon-Style Quick Play Games

If you’re on this site then the chances are, you’re into cartoons – to some degree at least. With that in mind, I’ve rounded up seven of my favourite cartoon-style quick-play games for you to try. One for every day of the week. All of these games are available to play on PC, with some available for mobile too, meaning everybody should be able to try them out. I’ve also made sure to include games that focus on different mechanics so that all types of gamers will have at least one title they can get stuck into and excel at. Let’s kick things off with Monday’s game.

Angry Birds Friends x Popeye

Going straight in with a heavy hitter that we’ve actually covered before, Angry Birds Friends x Popeye is a brilliant spin-off of the popular quick play title. In Angry Birds Friends x Popeye those angry avians invite the toughest spinach-powered sailor of the seven seas to join them in their quest to clean up the ocean.

It might not sound as exciting as the original game, but it really does stand up to scrutiny. The birds and Popeye need to stop Bluto and his crew from polluting the oceans with plastic waste. You do this using the same Angry Birds physics that you probably already know and love. Don’t forget to pop open some spinach cans too to keep Popeye feeling pumped right up until the end.

Starburst

Onto Tuesday’s game and it´s one of the most popular genres out there for this one. There are hundreds of slots games with cartoon-style graphics, but Starburst is one of the most famous of them all. This slot has brightly coloured gems as symbols, which cascade down onto the reels with sparkling effects. It’s a great slot to pick if you’re not familiar with this genre of game, as it’s super easy to snag a few bonus spins to use on it. In fact, Starburst is the most commonly found slot in free spins bonuses. So, not only do you get to enjoy a title that’s glitzy, sparkly, and brilliantly illustrated, you could also enjoy it for free.

Plants vs Zombies

Wednesday’s pick is Plants vs Zombies. This tower defense game requires you to use the incredible powers of plants to stop zombies from reaching them. You need to place unique plants with special abilities such as peashooters and sunflowers strategically around your home. With any luck, the plants will fire at the zombies, keeping them at bay. The puzzle challenge mode is also a nice touch, allowing you to take a break from the undead onslaught.

Fruit Ninja

Thursday’s game is Fruit Ninja, an action-packed title that makes food fights look like child’s play. You’ll need to swipe across your phone screen to slice fruits in half. The more fruit you can slice in one swipe, the higher the combo you’ll score. Arcade mode is the most chaotic and, in my opinion, the most fun, but Zen mode offers a totally different ninja fruit-slicing experience.

Cut the Rope

So far we’ve had a pretty high-octane selection of quick-play games, but Friday’s choice is much more laid back. This game requires you to cut specific ropes in order to let Om Nom get his candy. The cute character is more than charming enough to make the increasingly difficult puzzles worth it. The satisfaction of watching Om Nom chow down on candies makes the strategizing more than worthwhile. The levels do increase in difficulty considerably, with some featuring special objects that you’ll need to use wisely to achieve your goal.

Doodle Jump

Doodle Jump is Saturday’s game, a simple vertical game where you need to help your doodled character jump his way to the top of the screen. You do this by tilting your device left and right, helping him pick up jetpacks and step onto trampolines. You’ll need to watch out for monsters and black holes too if you want to reach those high scores.

Where’s My Water?

The final game of the week, Where’s My Water? is a cute puzzle game in which you need to guide a cartoon alligator to water. As you might’ve guessed, digging is the primary mechanic. However, the realistic water physics add a level of difficulty to the game, requiring you to think before you dig – sometimes quite hard.
