Digital Sky Launches New Series ‘SuperHero Diaries’
Digital sky brings together the superhero and comedy genres in its newest series, SuperHero Diaries, which launched in February on YouTube.
Superhero Diaries takes a satirical look into the personal lives of the “SuperHero” weaving outrageous comedy and interactive content. In these parodies, the characters have the illusion that they are a part of “our universe,” and can react to the trends and breaking news in near real time. They also react to each other’s unique lives as a community of frenemies and are fully aware of their counterparts in the DC and Marvel universes.
For the first time ever, SuperHeroes Diaries reveals what’s behind the mask of your favorite superheroes, their most private thoughts, and how they deal with real-life issues.
SuperHero Diaries features an extraordinary group of comedy actors, including stand-up comedians and improv theater, led by “Groundling” member Patrick Bristow.
“We are blending our love of comedy and superhero content to create an absurd sendup of these characters, parodies about their “real” day-to-day lives. You don’t usually see this level of talent in this genre — it’s special.” Bert Benton, Partner and Executive Producer.
The producers of the show, Bert Benton, Scott Zakarin and James Gavsie, have a deep connection to geek culture.
Scott Zakarin Produced several projects, including “Stan Lee’s Mutants Monsters and Marvels,” and the Miramax release “Comic Book the Movie.”
James Gavsie is the host of the popular podcast “Who Would Win” where he debates fictional battles between two characters from comic books, sci-fi and fantasy.
The first episode of SuperHero Diaries is now available on YouTube.
