FREESTYLE DIGITAL MEDIA ACQUIRES HORROR FEATURE “THE RED TIDE MASSACRE” FOR JANUARY RELEASE

Environmental Disaster-Horror Movie Set in Southwest Florida Sets Digital Debut for North American VOD Platforms and DVD on January 30, 2024

Freestyle Digital Media, the digital film distribution division of Byron Allen’s Allen Media Group, has acquired North American VOD rights to the creature horror feature film THE RED TIDE MASSACRE, which will be available to rent/own on all digital HD internet, cable, and satellite platforms worldwide, as well as on DVD, starting on January 30, 2024, through Freestyle Digital Media.

THE RED TIDE MASSACRE tells the story of a female TV reporter investigating environmental disaster in Southwest Florida who becomes the target of an unknown monster. Rookie female reporter Rio Lee investigates a string of mysterious murders during a global warming environmental disaster. The “red tide” has infected the Florida waterways, aiding the disappearance of escaped killer Al David. After being shot by the Sheriff, Al disappears into the contaminated water. The local biologist, Kara, assists the Sheriff and discovers that the red tide algae are consuming a blood sample she examines. Amid this calamity, the homegrown self-proclaimed Skunk Ape expert has evidence that the Florida Bigfoot is the actual killer. The Sheriff eventually tracks down the convict, which leads to the Sheriff’s brutal murder. This killing sets forth a showdown between Tommy, the Sheriff’s son, and the killer now known as the Red Tide Monster. The Monster moves through the coastal community and sets his sights on Rio. Finally, Tommy saves Rio and rids the town of the Monster. Directed by John A. Russo, Gavin Peretti, and Joseph M. Setele, THE RED TIDE MASSACRE was written by Palmer Edward based on a story by Joe Majestic, and was produced by Joe Majestic and Herb Linsey. THE RED TIDE MASSACRE features an ensemble cast that includes Michael Pare (‘Sheriff Tom Fuller’), Susan Elle (‘Rio Lee’), Sam Schweikert (‘Tommy Fuller’), Rich Sands (‘Al/Red Tide Monster’), Gina Vitori (‘Kara’), Duane Whitaker (‘Charlie’), Elizabeth Trieu (‘Shelby’), and Kristian Flores (‘Nate’).

“I wanted to create a classic take on the horror genre set against a recent environmental disaster in Southwest Florida,” said producer Joe Majestic. THE RED TIDE MASSACRE was a true team effort with an amazing cast and crew. We are confident viewers will enjoy the thrills!”

Freestyle Digital Media negotiated the deal to acquire THE RED TIDE MASSACRE with Alex Nohe from Blood Sweat Honey.
