
LION FORGE ENTERTAINMENT UNVEILS NEW “IYANU” SEASON 2 FOOTAGE DURING ITS HOLIDAY LIVESTREAM EVENT
During the Iyanu Holiday Livestream event, Lion Forge Entertainment unveiled a new opening title sequence along with two exclusive clips from the highly anticipated second season of Iyanu. Including the first look at the Season 2 movie, Iyanu: The War of Twin Princes. Both projects are slated for U.S. premieres in 2026, with one arriving in the spring and the other in the summer on Cartoon Network and HBO Max.
Season 2 deepens Iyanu’s journey as new threats rise across Yorubaland. The new Season 2 title sequence teases the looming war with the People of the Deep and their queen, Adura, while also showcasing Iyanu’s growing power and the evolving unity of Team Chosen. Viewers were then treated to a brand-new Season 2 clip featuring Iyanu and Adura’s first on-screen encounter, offering a dynamic glimpse at the tension—and unexpected humor—between the two characters.
The virtual event also gave fans their first look at the Season 2 movie, Iyanu: The War of Twin Princes. In this preview, award-winning actress Stella Damasus debuts in her new role as Oloye, who trains young Prince Laja in The Way of the Golden Leaf, an Iyanu-verse martial art inspired by Capoeira.
Iyanu the series, is based on the acclaimed graphic novel Iyanu: Child of Wonder by creator, showrunner, and executive producer Roye Okupe, the series follows Iyanu, a teenage orphan who discovers her divine power and responsibility to bring balance to Yorubaland. Produced by Lion Forge Entertainment, one of the few Black-owned animation studios of scale in North America, the franchise has emerged as a global hit.
It ranks among the Top 10 Kids and Family titles on HBO Max, debuted at Number 1 among Kids 6–12 on Cartoon Network during its launch month, and remains the Number 1 Kids and Family title on Showmax across 44 African nations. The series also streams internationally on ITVX in the United Kingdom, ABCiview in Australia, and in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and wider MENA region on Ejunior Kids TV through STARZPLAY.
Season 2 will showcase ten episodes and the feature-length movie event, continuing Iyanu’s evolution as ancient powers reawaken, alliances shift, and long-buried truths surface. As Iyanu confronts rising chaos and unraveling histories tied to the Age of Wonders, the stakes become deeply personal.
