First Look Clip — “Never Surrender: A ‘Galaxy Quest’ Documentary”

Twenty years ago next month, a pop-culture phenomenon was born: “Galaxy Quest” came to theaters in December 1999, and though it was a moderate box-office success, the last two decades have seen it become a genuine cult movie. It was also the first movie to really address the power of fandom and the enormous influence of “con-culture.”

On Tuesday, November 26, Fathom Events is teaming up with Fandom and Screen Junkies for a one-day-only special in-cinema event: The premiere of NEVER SURRENDER: A ‘GALAXY QUEST’ DOCUMENTARY, which chronicles the creation of this unique movie.  Featuring appearances by Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Sam Rockwell, Rainn Wilson, Justin Long, Tony Shalhoub, Daryl “Chill” Mitchell, Enrico Colantoni, Missi Pyle, director Dean Parisot, Will Wheaton and Brent Spiner — among others! — it’s a loving look at the wild production and seemingly impossible odds that “Galaxy Quest” faced on its way to cinematic immortality.
