Today in the Toyverse I have a very special treat to talk to everyone about. Diamond Select Toys and Gentle Giant were kind enough to send something over from a galaxy far, far away. That’s right, today we are looking at a mini-bust of The Mandalorian. This version is the MK1 armor done in a 1:6 scale. So without any more blurbs from me, let’s dive into this piece and talk about it more.
Let’s first talk about the sculpt. The presentation on this warrior with a code is just phenomenal. The bust immediately grabs your attention. The head sculpt is really crisp and clean, and has the design of the character down to an exact science. That helmet feels very life like to me, and I love it. The armor across his upper body is beautiful. It has a lot going on with it, but not in an annoying way. The Mandalorian armor complements the head in terms of sculpt The creases, the dings, the straps, and and hands are all done really well. This is the first time I have handled a Gentle Giant min bust, and I can see why they are well praised in the collecting world. The rifle has an incredible amount of detail, and the flame coming out from the other arm has a nice look to it as well. The cape is also sculpted great. It has a nice windswept look to it that works for the profile of the bust. The appearance of the cape looks so realistic that you feel like a waft of wind passed and touched it. And the flame thrower and the blaster would make you feel like you’re inside the scenes watching the mercenary fight for his life. The bust is perfectly sized at 6 inches and comes with a box and a numbered certificate of authenticity.
Many Star Wars fans would get excited with this rare collectible as it encapsulates the greatness of this bounty hunter that is touted as the only warrior that could defeat a Jedi. Mandalorians are such important characters in the Star Wars franchise because they have a rich Galactic history, and to have them represented in a life-like bust is truly phenomenal.
Lets talk paint. The team really did a great job bringing out the colors of the character in great form. The helmet looks great here too. I especially love how the black on the visor feels deep and rich. The armor and upper body has muted silver, blue, and brown to it that make a nice visual. I love the dry brushing that has been applied, and it all feels on point to the real life version of the character suit. The rifle is loaded with a great amount of dry brushing and paint that make it eye catching against the body. The craftsmanship is a testament to the maker’s dedication to creating something that would become a treasure and even an heirloom that would be passed on for generations. If you want to get your hands on similar Mandalorian collectibles, you may check them online. These are great collectibles for fans of the series who would like to have a keepsake. However, you need to be wary when purchasing these collectibles as there are those who prey on fans and take advantage of their love for the series franchise.
Overall, this Gentle Giant and Diamond Select Toys mini bust is pretty amazing. It’s going to look great along side other busts, and it is going to look great in any Star Wars display. If you get a chance, pick it up. If not for yourself, then maybe for that special Star Wars fan in your life. Don’t let this opportunity pass you by.
I want to send a special thank you to Diamond Select for sending this over, and thank you so much for stopping by. Enjoy the photos below.
