Today in the Toyverse, we travel down deep into the Batcave and look at another McFarlane Toys Dc Multiverse offering. Up for showcase discussion today is the Damien Wayne Robin figure. Once again, on behalf of Comic Crusaders and myself, a special thank you to McFarlane Toys for sending this over to the site to talk about with everyone. With that said, let’s see what Gotham’s youngest vigilante is up to.
Damien Wayne has a presence to him when you first look at him. I believe this is the first McFarlane figure that isn’t a standard adult male. And before you get your pitchforks up in arms, I know Cyborg is out, but that was a very stylized version of that character. I think they executed the look very well. The head looks great. the domino mask is painted and sculpted good, and the hair follows suit. The green highlights add a little flare to it as well. The cape and hood look good. the sculpted plastic cape is firm, but flexible at the same time. Robin’s costume has a color scheme to it. I show no bleeding, and all the colors are crisp and clean. The gauntlets have a nice green to them and fit the character very well. The books really stand out to me. It is mostly to the shoelaces. It is the red laces that create a strong profile to the green.
As for articulation, Robin has some interesting choices for movement. The head can do the usual: move up and down, side to side, and left and right. The upper body once again if a soft plastic shell that doesn’t break up the sculpt. However due to this shell being much thicker crunching forwards is a bit of an issue for those looking for posing, but going backwards isn’t much of an issue. The arms are standard movement. Bicep cut, single jointed elbows, and ball hinges at the wrist. The lower legs are on ball pegs, and allow some rotation. Single jointed knees, and ball hinges at the feet, along with toe hinges.
As for accessories, Robin comes with two throwing blades, a long sword, collectible card, and standard display base. Overall, this latest release from McFarlane Toys continues to impress me. Damien Wayne has a great presence, and he looks great on display or in photos. I hope you enjoyed today’s review, and once again, a special thank you to McFarlane Toys. Share your thoughts on this figure with me, and stay safe everyone.
